Interstate 35W collapse

The sun is coming up over Minneapolis this morning. Last night wasn't a bad dream after all. Please pray for the families of those who didn't come home last night.

Interstate 35W collapse

Anyone who has been watching TV news tonight knows that a major freeway bridge collapsed in Minneapolis sending as many as 50 cars into the Mississippi River. Homeland Security (in Washington DC?!) assures us that there is absolutely no reason to suspect terrorism.

Really? You mean beside the fact that the bridge was relatively young, as bridges go?

Or beside the fact that the bridge just recently passed inspection?

Or beside the fact that no structural work was being done on the bridge that should have caused this?

Or beside the fact that the engineers are baffled by the collapse?

Or beside the fact that some witnesses report hearing an explosion just before the bridge fell?

I’m really not suggesting that this was terrorism or sabotage but I get frustrated by the knee-jerk reaction of authorities who, before the facts are known, assure us that terrorism is not suspected. This destroys their credibility. Why can’t they just be honest and say, “we just don't know yet?”
