their fellow countrymen to oppose its entry. Their clarion call proclaimed that
Britain would lose its national sovereignty in the most Big Brother of ways. And
they were right.
Meet Janet Devers, who runs a modest vegetable stall in a London market. At age 63, she is now facing 13 criminal charges for not selling her produce according to the measurements of the metric system.
No worries about the large population of extremist Muslims throughout England and especially in London. Who cares about the terrorist plots so many of them have tried to carry out there? The real prob in Britain--and throughout Europe is this poor woman who braves the cold and sells produce by the pound and ounce. The government actually came to her stall and seized her weighing scales:

Al Qaeda connection
Over the weekend the news was reporting that there is a link between Al Qaeda and those who planned the latest bombings in Britain. What a shocker!

Terrorist bomb in London
Breaking: CNN and Fox News are reporting that a potentially massive explosive device has been discovered in London. A car was discovered outside the "Tiger, Tiger" bar in a club and theater district in London at 1:00 AM. It was a time when "many, many people were leaving nightclubs." The car contained propane containers, a large amount of extra gasoline, a detonating device and its floors were covered with nails. Fortunately, the car did not explode. Authorities are treating it as an attempted terrorist attack.

Tax support for polygamy
Recliner Commentaries has previously posted on the increasing phenomena of polygamy in New York among Muslim immigrants. So, got an extra wife or two? Is America being intolerant toward you and your wives? You can now move to England and receive “income support, jobseeker's allowance and housing and council tax benefits” for your “extra' spouses.” This only works if you are an immigrant, however, since bigamy is otherwise illegal in Britain (Dhimmi Watch).
It must be nice to live in a kinder, gentler, more socialist country like England where tax payers apparently don’t mind giving up their hard-earned dollars to support two, three, or four wives for unemployed immigrants. But never fear! If Hillary or Obama become president they will surely move us much farther down that tolerant, utopian road toward socialism.

Breaking: Sailors' news conference
Moments ago the British sailors finished a press conference regarding their capture by Iran.
They said that they were on a routine boarding patrol in full accordance with United Nations mandate when the Iranian Navy came at them heavily armed and with definite intent. The British Sailors made it clear that regardless of statements they made in captivity, GPS and helicopter monitoring proved that they were absolutely not in Iranian waters. British rules of engagement forbid armed engagement and they determined that resistance would have been futile anyway. They tried reasoning with the Iranians but their words fell on deaf ears.
Once in Iran, they were blindfolded, had their hands bound, and were forced up against a wall with people cocking weapons in the background. They were stripped and dressed in PJ’s and kept in complete isolation except for brief times in the evenings when they were allowed to play chess, etc. for coverage by the Iranian media. They were blindfolded at all other times, kept in concrete cells with only blankets to sleep on and were subjected to nightly interrogation. They were told that if they admitted to being in Iranian water, they would be released and sent home. If they denied, they would be imprisoned for seven years. The only woman captive was told that everyone else had been sent home and that she was the only one left (she was not at the press conference).

The crisis is over
The crisis is over. The British sailors are now home.
During the whole affair I don’t recall hearing a single person from the Left expressing outrage over the fact that international law was violated by the Iranians, or that the human rights of the British sailors were trampled, or that the Red Cross was never allowed to visit the sailors, or that they may have been tortured or coerced to make confessions (if they made such pro-Iranian statements without being coerced, I hope they have a lot of explaining to do).
It seems to me that even allegations of the mistreatment of terrorists by America was often treated as fact by the Left, and people couldn’t even turn on the TV without hearing how horrible America was for abusing terrorists.
It's not that the Right is unconcerned about allegations of torture, but we get upset when some on the Left only seem to want to attack America.

Young British Muslims
Last night, I watched CNN’s special, The War Within, hosted by Christiane Amanpour. One point that came through clearly was the fact that young Muslims in Britain see the War in Iraq as a war against Muslims. This view is apparently very widespread, especially among Britain’s Muslim youth. I must admit that my mental response was not very gracious.
In the first Iraq War America was defending Muslims in Kuwait. Some will say we did it only for oil but the motive is beside the point. The fact is that we were defending Kuwaiti Muslims and were supported by Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia and Jordan. So it is simply not the case that America was waging a war on Muslims. We were waging war on some Muslims who were trying to conquer other Muslims. We were on the side of the oppressed Muslims who were being overrun. On whose side does that leave these young British Muslims?
In the second Iraq War, thousands of Iraqi Muslims rejoiced in the streets when we liberated them from the ruthless rule of Saddam Hussein and even today many Muslims in Iraq continue to support us. So it is a matter of fact that we are not fighting against all Muslims in Iraq, just the Muslims who are slaughtering other Muslims by the thousands; just the ones who are killing innocent Muslim women and children. So if we are fighting against Muslims who kill Muslims, on whose side does that leave these young British Muslims?

British military in Iraqi waters
According to CBS/AP, "Iran's foreign minister has rejected Global Satellite Positioning evidence that the British military offered up as proof that 15 service members detained by Iranian forces at sea were in Iraqi waters, rather than Iranian territory as Tehran claims."
What a shocker! There is no word yet on whether Rosie O'Donnell will also reject the evidence. Her hatred for the West is so great that she had immediately sided with Iran on the crisis.

Iran captures British sailors
Fifteen British sailors were captured at gunpoint this morning is a waterway between Iran and Iraq. The British say they were in Iraqi waters. Iran says they were in Iranian waters (BBC).
In an article on the Counterterrorism Blog, terrorism expert Walid Phares believes this was part of a calculated “chess” move by the Iranian mullahs to provoke a limited counter strike by British and American forces. A tiny minority of Muslims
According to the Telegraph, British intelligence reports,
The terrorist threat facing Britain from home-grown al-Qaeda agents is higherRecently the director of the British MI5 warned that,
than at any time since the September 11 attacks in 2001, secret intelligence
documents reveal. The number of British-based Islamic terrorists plotting
suicide attacks against "soft" targets in this country is far greater than the
Security Services had previously believed, the government paperwork discloses.
It is thought the plotters could number more than 2,000.
there were more than 1,600 "identified individuals" actively engaged in plottingI doubt that the British people are taking much comfort in the fact that these are just a tiny minority of Muslims.
terrorist attacks. There were 200 known networks involved in at least 30
terrorist plots. It is thought that the number of British citizens involved in
plots could be well in excess of 2,000 Telegraph.

British Airways and radiation
Tensions are understandably high in Britain in the wake of the spy who died of radiation poisoning due to exposure to Polonium 210. Two British Airlines planes have now tested positive for Polonium 210 and three more planes are suspected. British officials are looking for about 33,000 passengers who have flown on the two contaminated planes since October 25 to see if they have been contaminated by radiation. Twelve locations in Britain have also tested positive for radiation contamination, though so far everyone tested has tested negative (FoxNews).

Britain tracking 200 Islamist cells
From Douglas Farah on the Counterterrorism Blog:
"The stunning public statement by Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller that Britain's domestic intelligence agency MI5 is tracking some 200 Islamist cells with some 1,600 members who "actively engaged in plotting or facilitating terrorist acts here and overseas." shows just how deeply the Islamist groups have burrowed into their host society."
"Today we see the use of homemade improvised explosive devices, but I suggest tomorrow's threat will include the use of chemicals, bacteriological agents, radioactive materials and even nuclear technology," Manningham-Buller said."
"The scope and size of the publicly-acknowledged investigations are a tacit admission that the Blair government's attempts at dialogue with the Muslim community, largely through Muslim Brotherhood-dominated groups that have sister organizations in the United States, has not stemmed the movement toward radicalism. My full blog is here."

Breaking News: London
Pray for the people of London this morning. If you missed the news, the story is still breaking that seven separate explosions have rocked the London transit system during the height of the morning rush hour. At this hour, TV news is reporting over 150 known casualties, a number that appears to be growing. An organization claiming connection with Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility, though the sick fact is that numerous groups often claim responsibility for such terrorist acts so it is still unclear who is actually responsible (some might suspect the IRA but reports are that suicide bombers may be involved and the IRA has never used suicide bombers).
If this does turn out to be the work of Islamic terrorists, now is the time for Muslims who have claimed that Islam is a peaceful religion to flood the talk shows, the blogs, and their local newspapers with condemnations for these heinous terrorist acts. We also need to see Muslim religious leaders on the local TV news telling of how they condemned these attacks publicly before their congregations. Now is the time to demonstrate that true Islam is a peaceful religion.
