In Australia, two pastors, Daniel Scott and Daniel Nalliah, were convicted of hate speech simply for teaching about Islam (See Recliner Commentaries, October 19). In a victory for freedom of speech in Australia, their conviction has just been overturned! Read about it at Dhimmi Watch.

Where are the moderate Muslims?
On October 26 Recliner Commentaries drew attention to a prominent Muslim leader in Australia who blamed the victim of a gang rape for her own rape. Recently an article appeared in Australia’s Herald-Sun (cited in Jihad Watch) discussing the response by “moderate” Muslims. Excerpts appear below:
"Excuses over. The disgraced mufti of Australia set Muslims a test last month and they failed.
That test couldn't have been easier: make Sheik Taj el-Din al-Hilaly pay for preaching that unveiled women invited rape."
"Prove that Muslims can't be led by a man who says raped women must be "jailed for life". Prove we have nothing to fear from your faith."
"Simple? Yet yesterday 34 Muslim groups signed a petition backing this bigot, while others plan a big rally for Sydney tomorrow, denouncing not Hilaly but the non-Muslims who criticise him."
"The results are in: Islam here -- as represented by many of its leaders -- is now a threat.
What's more: our culture of self-hate makes us too weak to properly resist." (Herald-Sun).
The author’s last comment is particularly striking. In America the Left’s relativist, multicultural, tolerance of everything but our own Judeo-Christian heritage (which they loathe), has so permeated our society that this may ultimately be the downfall of our country because in spite of all our military power—we are too weak to properly resist.

Gang rape victims: “uncovered meat”
Australia has been plagued by a series of gang rapes by Arab men. One Muslim blamed the women who "sway suggestively,' wear make-up and don't cover themselves in the tradition of Islam."
The man went on to say "If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it ... whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?…The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred."
The really disturbing thing about these comments is that they come, not from some radical wacko on the street, but from Sheik Taj el-Dene Elhilaly, the top Muslim cleric in Australia! (WorldNet Daily)
The cleric later apologized saying, "I had only intended to protect women's honor." Yeah right. He wants to protect women's honor by keeping women at home in their rooms. There was no word of outrage by “moderate” Muslims.
