The terrorist attack in Libya

The truth came out today that the Obama administration knew within 24 hours that the attack on our consulate in Libya was an Al Qaeda terrorist attack. Yet for days Obama, Clinton and others in the Obama administration repeatedly lied not only to the American people but to the whole world, bitterly blaming the attack on someone who was exercising his right to free speech.

It is not unusual for administrations to lie in order to protect, for example, strategic assets, national security or the lives of intelligence assets. In this case, however, it would appear that the lies were entirely politically motivated. After all, it just wouldn't be politically expedient for the U.S. to suffer a terrorist attack on American soil only weeks before the election, would it.

UPDATE: Charles Krauthammer just made the point that the attack in Libya came only about a week after the Democratic Convention in which numerous Democrats repeatedly "spiked the ball" about their defeat of bin Laden and Al Qaeda. The the fact that Al Qaeda responded only a week later by attacking an American consulate and killing our ambassador was so embarrassing that the Obama administration desperately tried to cover it up.

Intervening in Syria

The President of Egypt today called upon--no, demanded that the countries of the world step up and put an end to the atrocities in Syria.

Let me get this straight. When the countries of the world stepped up--with the support of Middle Eastern Muslim countries--and turned back the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, we were condemned by those same Muslim countries (and the American Left) for interfering in Muslim affairs.

And when we--with the cooperation of Middle Eastern Muslim countries--put an end to the atrocities committed by Saddam Hussein on the people of Iraq, once again we were condemned by those same Muslim countries (and the American Left) for interfering in Muslim affairs.

But when we do not interfere in Muslim affairs in Syria, we are condemned by the radical Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt for not doing so?

Give me a break! This is one case in which I support Barack Obama. Stay out of Syria! Our involvement would, in all likelihood, cost many American lives and only serve to set up yet another oppressive Muslim regime as has happened in Libya, Egypt and Iraq.

The Obama administration appeasement of Muslims

For a couple of weeks now, our President and Secretary of State have been repeatedly condemning and practically apologizing to Muslims for some YouTube video clip. Our leaders have blamed this video for the violence carried out by thousands of Muslims in numerous countries around the world—violence leading to the death of a U.S. Ambassador who had absolutely nothing to do with the video!

Frankly, this appeasement infuriates me! For decades Muslims all over the world have kidnapped, imprisoned, enslaved, robbed, raped, tortured and murdered thousands and thousands of Christians! (Please see Newsweek for an overview of such persecution, then see Compass Direct News and Jihad Watch for a more detailed documentation). Why is there more outrage by the Obama administration over a YouTube video--protected by the First Amendment--than over the slaughter of thousands of innocent Christians?

But those radicals only make up a tiny minority of Muslims, right?

If thousands of Muslims rise up in violent protest against a short YouTube clip, why haven’t millions of "moderate" Muslims risen up in protest about how their supposedly peaceful religion has been dragged through the mud by the "radical Muslims" who regularly commit these atrocities?

After all, such atrocities certainly damage the reputation of Islam far, FAR more than some obscure YouTube clip that very few people even knew about (least of all, Arabic speaking Muslims!) before it was made known by Muslim violence!

And yet the Muslim world is deafeningly silent when it comes to such barbarism.

Could it be that the idea of Islam as a “peaceful religion” is a myth, and that the number of true “moderate Muslims” in the non-Western world has been significantly overestimated? Could it be that the danger Islam presents to the world has been significantly underestimated?

Are you an "independent" voter?

Are you an independent who is still trying to decide whether to vote for Romney or Obama? Here's something that may help you out (it is attributed to Jeff Foxworthy and is making the rounds on the internet. I have no idea whether this is really from Jeff Foxworthy, but the content is so true):

Which  side of the fence?

If  you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a  great test!

If  a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If  a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If  a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If  a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for  everyone.

If  a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If  a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If  a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his  situation.
A  Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If  a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches  channels.
Democrats  demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If  a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A  Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion  silenced.

If  a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping  for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands  that the rest of us pay for his.

Someone could respond by saying,

If you are a Democrat you believe women should have the choice to have an abortion
If you are a Republican you believe no one should be allowed to have abortions.

If you are a Democrat you believe anyone should be able to get married
If you are a Republican you want to stop some people from getting married.

There is some truth to this, of course. Neither Republicans nor Democrats are anarchists. We all believe society needs some rules and laws.

When it comes to laws and regulations, however, Republican tend to focus on the big issues. There seems to be no end to all the things Democrats want to regulate--all the way down to the size of soft drinks you can purchase or what local schools can offer in their cafeterias! The Obama administration has passed literally thousands and thousands of pages of new regulations!

We can have more government regulations and less freedom, or we can have less government and more freedom. In November, the choice is ours.

Kreeft's "Apple Argument Against Abortion"

See Peter Kreefts' "Apple Argument Against Abortion." He dares anyone to defy his logic.

The point Peter Kreeft doesn't press is that most pro-choice advocates really aren't interested in reason or logic. They just want abortion to be legal (and now Democrats want to force everyone else to help pay for it)! Most of their arguments are merely smoke and mirrors.
