Spreading racism

It is slanderous rhetoric like this that perpetuates the racism in this country!

Three daughters slaughtered because they were raped!

In Libya, Gadhafi's troops raped a man's three daughters age 15, 17, and 18. The father then slit the throat of his three daughters for the shame they brought on the family for being raped!

It is impossible for me to understand such such atrocity except in terms of satanic blindness.

Banned Books Week

Here is a perspective on the ALA's "Banned Books Week" from someone on the Left. There are a couple of points I would quibble with but overall it is excellent!

Iran: Israel must be eradicated!

According to Ahmadinejad, "Iran believes that whoever is for humanity should also be for eradicating the Zionist regime (Israel) as symbol of suppression and discrimination..."

And yet the U.S. under both Bush and Obama stands idly by while Iran develops nuclear weapons. We are watching a force even more dangerous than Nazi Germany develop before our eyes and Barack (Neville Chamberlain) Obama seems to think we can negotiate with them! Unbelievable! Criminal!

"Slander from the Religious Left"

Good article: Slander from the Religious Left: On not Bearing False Witness Against Your Conservative Neighbor.

Obama, Bush and being "unpatriotic"

In 2008 candidate Obama--now Commander-in-Chief of tolerance and civility--flat out called President Bush "unpatriotic" for spending so much money. Obama was right to call Bush out on this. However, as Paul Harvey used to say, there is "the rest of the story." This has been on numerous news and blog outlets. In case you haven't seen it, this is what candidate Obama said in 2008:
“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion dollars for the first 42 presidents -- number 43 added $4 trillion dollars by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion dollars of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $30,000 for every man, woman and child,” Obama said on July 3, 2008, at a campaign event in Fargo, N.D.“That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic,” said candidate Obama.
What took Bush eight years to do in the wake of 911 and Hurricane Katrina, Obama has done in only two years! He is either--by his own condemnation--"unpatriotic," or he owes Bush a huge apology.

"Homosexual men account for 61% of the new HIV infections"

According to Lifesite News: "The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has estimated that practicing homosexual men account for 61% of the new HIV infections in the United States while they only amount to about 2% of the country’s population."  So much for the lies about HIV being a "Heterosexual" disease.

Somehow our society (and many Christians too) have bought into the idea that promoting homosexual behavior is somehow "compassionate." We encourage people to stop smoking because it is bad for their health (and significantly increases health care costs), why would we promote male homosexual behavior?

Encouraging behavior that results in horrible deaths is not compassionate. It is cruel.

Israel attacked from Gaza--again.

According to Reuters, "More than 50 rockets fired from Gaza, Israeli killed." One of the rockets fell on a school.

I'll wait to hear the outrage from the mainstream media, Hollywood and the United Nations, but I won't hold my breath. At this point, I'd just like to hear some outrage from our own President!

Since Israel (rightfully) responded to the attacks, many will treat this as if both parties are at fault--which is absurd.

Peace in the Middle East is really not all that complicated. If Muslims would stop attacking Israel, we would have peace. If Muslim nations would recognize Israel's right to exist, establish normal relations, and crack down on Muslim radicals who are trying to kill innocent Jews, we would not only have peace but some degree of unity.

Thomas Sowell on Social Degradation

Thomas Sowell has published an absolutely outstanding set of articles on the social degradation taking place in  American and England. Here are some excerpts:
A recent study in England found 352,000 households in which nobody had ever worked. Moreover, two-thirds of the adults in those households said that they didn't want to work. As in America, such people feel both "entitled" and aggrieved.
In both countries, those who have achieved less have been taught by the educational system, by the media and by politicians on the left that they have a grievance against those who have achieved more. As in the United States, they feel a fierce sense of resentment against strangers who have done nothing to them, and lash out violently against those strangers.
But such barbarism was not nearly as widespread two generations ago, in the middle of the 20th century. Were there no disparities or inequities then? Actually there were more.
What is different today is that there has been -- for decades -- a steady drumbeat of media and political hype about differences in income, education and other outcomes, blaming these differences on oppression against those with fewer achievements or lesser prosperity.
The orgies of violent attacks against strangers on the streets -- in both England and the United States -- are not necessarily just passing episodes. They should be wake-up calls, warning of the continuing degeneration of Western society.
If you only have time to read one set of articles this month, please take time to read these!

Obama and America's Muslim heritage

Judging from the President's remarks, you'd never guess that one of the very first wars fought in this country was against North African Muslim nations that were capturing our merchant ships and selling Americans into slavery!

Since grade school, Americans have been endlessly indoctrinated and shamed by the evil of enslaving Africans (and rightly so!), but we never hear about the fact that African Muslims were enslaving Americans!  My guess is that the vast majority of Americans--possibly even including our President--don't have a clue.

Intimidation and the Left

When does over-regulation slide into tyranny?

According to the Gazette Virginian:
A new rule being proposed by the federal Department of Transportation would require farmers to get commercial drivers licenses.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, which is a part of DOT, wants to adopt standards that would reclassify all farm vehicles and implements as Commercial Motor Vehicles, officials said. Likewise, the proposal, if adopted, would require all farmers and everyone on the farm who operates any of the equipment to obtain a CDL, they added.
The proposed rule change would mean that anyone who drives a tractor or operates any piece of motorized farming equipment would be required to pass the same tests and complete the same detailed forms and logs required of semi-tractor trailer drivers.
Is there anything the Obama administration doesn't want to regulate (and tax)? When does overregulation slide into tyranny? I think our founding fathers would say we've already crossed the line.

Racist flash mobs and hate crimes

Fox News is reporting:
Police departments in several cities around the country are investigating what appear to be incidents of "flash mob"-generated violence, in which packs of dozens or even hundreds of youths appear seemingly out of nowhere to commit assaults, robberies and other crimes against innocent bystanders.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the attacks that have resulted in numerous arrests around the country are being investigated -- and law enforcement officials in at least one city are looking into a possible racial component to the crimes.
Later on, the article says,
The motive and circumstances surrounding the attacks that have resulted in numerous arrests around the country are being investigated -- and law enforcement officials in at least one city are looking into a possible racial component to the crimes.
Really? Only one city is looking into this? Isn't Milwaukee looking into this also? Why is no one talking about "hate crimes?" (Short answer: "Hate crime" is a club used very selectively. It is much more about politics than justice).

Philadelphia's black mayor addressed a black congregation saying,
If you want …anybody else to respect you and not be afraid when they see you walking down the street, then leave the innocent people who are walking down the street minding their own damn business. Leave them alone,"
For decades the evil of racism was pounded into white audiences--and rightly so. The problem is that black audiences were apparently not hearing about the evils of racism. They were apparently just hearing about how evil white people are--which is itself racism! It is long past time that the black community start addressing racism in this own community. In other words, we need more like Philadelphia's mayor.

These racist flash-mob thugs play right into the hands of white supremacist groups. Its not as if such groups needed an excuse to hate black people--hatred doesn't need legitimate reasons or excuses--but theses mob attacks give white supremacists ammo for their hateful agendas. These racist flash mobs also give reason for non-blacks to be afraid of black people.

One of my granddaughters--one of the joy's of my life!--is black. I don't want her to be tainted by the racist violence perpetrated by a bunch of violent thugs.

Angry MoveOn Mob Threatens to Kick Down Boehner’s Door

The War on Wealth is wrong

Michael Medved has an excellent article on taxing the rich in Townhall today, entitled, "The war on wealth isn't just stupid--its wrong." Here is an excerpt:
When President Obama pushes the idea of “taxing the rich” he’s actually talking about taxing those who are trying to get rich. His desired wealth increases won’t so much impact the “millionaires and billionaires” who draw his derision as it will cripple those eager strivers who hope someday to become millionaires and billionaires. The federal tax authorities don’t go after wealth but rather grab their share from income, hampering earning not luxurious living.
This explains the puzzling predisposition of progressive plutocrats who live primarily off their investments (or who won life’s lottery with inherited fortunes like the Kennedys or Rockefellers) to favor high tax rates on top earners. It’s not really noble or unselfish for those who have already earned their pile to seek to place new obstacles on hard-driving, up-and-coming challengers who seek to enter the charmed circle of privilege.
Please take time to read the entire article.

Christianity and the media

On local TV news (KSTP) there was a story about "Feed My Starving Children" in the Minneapolis area. Feed my Starving Children sends thousands and thousands of meals to poverty stricken areas overseas. To save money--thereby enabling the organization to send even more meals--all of these thousands of meals are assembled and packaged entirely by volunteers.

I was very disappointed that KSTP didn't bother to mention that this is an Evangelical Christian organization! The media is quick to broadcast the failures of Christian leaders but they are not so quick to tell of all the incredible and positive things Christians do in the world.

Because of the anti-Christian bias of TV news and Hollywood (and some atheist propaganda as well), the non-church-going public is left with the impression that Christians are all a bunch of hypocrites or ignorant gun-toting rednecks who make no contribution to society!

I guess I can't blame them. If all I knew about Evangelical Christians was what I saw on TV (or read in atheist books), I'd probably oppose Christians too.

545 vs 300,000,000 people

The following is making the rounds on the internet--I think it has been for quite some time. I thought I'd help it along (Hat tip: Professor ed).

I think we have to remember that these 545 people are in power because "we the people" put them there (or sat home on election day and allowed our neighbors to put them there).

I think we should also remember that each congressperson is only one voice among 545--which is why we need to ensure that our members of congress are not part of the problem. Otherwise, I think the Mr. Reese makes a good point.

545 vs. 300,000,000 People
-By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
That separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House now? He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ...
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

What you do with this article now that you have read it... is up to you.
This might be funny if it weren't so true.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'

Racism in Milwaukee

Mobs of black people beat white victims at the state fair in Milwaukee. Will these thugs be charged with hate crimes? Will the national news media pick up on this?

If this was a story of white mobs attacking innocent black victims it would be on every news outlet in the country for weeks on end.

I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if the national media pretty much ignores it. It wouldn't be politically correct to focus on black racism.

When our society focuses on the problem of white racism but ignores the problem of black racism, they are saying, in effect, that racism against white people is OK. That is every bit as racist as the attitudes exhibited by the KKK sixty years ago. Apparently the racism hasn't changed. The only thing that has changed is the object of that racism.

Racism is deplorable, regardless of the skin color of the perpetrators.

Forcing Christian groups to admit non-Christians

According to Christianity Today, the 9th Circuit Court ruled that the California State University system can force Christian groups to admit non-Christians!

If any advocacy groups--environmental advocacy groups, gay rights groups, women's rights groups, Democrat groups, Republican groups, atheist groups--cannot limit their membership to those who agree with their core principles, the existence of the group is threatened, and so is their voice, their speech!

The Court apparently argued that the university system did not intend to violate anyone's First Amendment rights--as if it is OK to violate someones Constitutional rights as long as you didn't intend to do so!

I don't know the whole story. I haven't read the case. But on the surface it looks like these judges are either just plain stupid or they judicial activists with a blatantly anti-Christian agenda.

Religious liberty at stake

This must be one of the biggest Supreme Court cases in the history of Supreme Court cases! A wrong decision on this one would devastating to religious liberty in America!

I can't believe this is even being challenged in America!

Obama's real agenda?

Obama's agenda: Overwhelm the system. (hat tip: Professor ed).

Do you believe this or is Mr. Root the one with the agenda?

I don't want to believe it--but I must admit that in some pessimistic corner of my mind I have feared that it may be true.

By the way, Snopes has verified that the source is correctly attributed.

Games the Left play with opinion polls

Want a poll that shows most Americans support same-sex marriage? No problem. Just be sure to poll an audience that supports same sex marriage!  That is apparently what one major polling organization did (and even admitted it in the fine print).  Please take time to read the story.

Increasingly in the post-modern world, polls are not about getting at the truth (how could they be? Post-modernism doesn't believe in truth). They are about pushing an agenda!

Take another look at "fairness"

John Hawkins takes another look at "fairness."  Good article!

Now Obama is suing Alabama!

Now the Obama administration is suing Alabama over immigration.  This reminds me of a body's immune system that begins attacking itself!
