California requirement to teach gay history

According to the Huffington Post,
California lawmakers on Tuesday sent the governor a bill that would make the state the first requiring public schools to include the contributions of gays and lesbians in social studies curriculum.
The bill, passed on a party-line vote, adds lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as well as people with disabilities to the list of groups that schools must include in the lessons. It also would prohibit material that reflects adversely on gays.
"Prohibit material that reflects adversely on gays?" Maybe we should include a clause the prohibits material that reflects adversely on Americans? Maybe we should stop teaching history regarding the taking of Indian lands or the horrors of slavery since such teaching may cause someone's feelings to be hurt? What nonsense!

What kind of "history" is it when only positive contributions can be selected? That's not history. It is propaganda. Worse than propaganda, this bill is a postmodern, manipulative, oppressive power play designed to legitimize perverted behaviors and to de-legitimize and villainize people of traditional faith.
