Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness

According to the Fox Nation blog, When President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness met with him today they explained to him how "the permitting process can delay projects for 'months and years." Obama smiled and joked, "Shovel-ready was not as...ah...shovel ready as we expected."

His council "erupted in laughter."

I'm sure Americans who have lost jobs and homes on Obama's watch don't think it is quite so funny.

"The Obama administration promised the Recovery Act ('The stimulus') would prevent the jobless rate from going over 8%. It now stands at 9.1%."

In other words the President and Democrats lied when they told us their projects were "shovel-ready." They then flushed hundreds-of-billions of our tax money down the hopper--on what turned out to be, in many cases, Democrat's special interest projects!

Obama lied, Americans cried--and the President apparently finds this funny!

But if you too think this is funny, just wait until you have a serious illness and the Obamacare "permitting process" to approve your health care takes longer than you have to live!

I think government officials should be given a certain number of "chips" at the beginning of their term. They can play these chips whenever they like increasing their vote weight perhaps, or even bet them against competing interests over a certain topic (ex: Senator A put 10-points in escrow that the GDP will increase by 2% next year against Senator B's 5-points that it will not.) Giving politician's a playing field as long as the public's memory means they have a mostly unlimited playing field.

Weiner lied and got in trouble for it b/c his lies were immediately verifiable. Barney Frank lies and deceives, but does it on long term and complicated issues, and he's just fine. A more structured system that holds politicians accountable for their decisions, their declarations, and their actions would be very beneficial.
