The definition of Social Justice

The man in the video below is a former advisor to President Obama. He says that if you lived in a country with social justice, you could take your life, write it on a card and throw it in a big pile with everyone else. Then randomly draw out another life and be confident it would be a good life.

Can he really be this uninformed or unintelligent?

I'm not a rich person. I live from paycheck to paycheck, and yet I am much better off than I was when I was  milking cows for a living in my late teens and early 20's. I am much better off than my parents ever were. That didn't just happen. It took a LOT of time, money, hard work, study, pain and sacrifice (by both me and my family).

Now if everyone was guaranteed the same quality of life regardless of how much work they put in to it, why would anyone bother? If I was going to end up no better off than I was when I was milking cows, why on earth would I subject myself and my family to all the pain and sacrifice (and debt!) we endured?

Why would a lawyer or doctor or psychologist or business owner or engineer or accountant or anyone, slave and sacrifice, study and work 50, 60, 70 or more hours a week to get where they are--if they knew they would end up no better off than the guy who works 40 hours a week (or less) and spends the rest of his time fishing and drinking beer?

Van Jones seems to think that this is fair! Van Jones' vision of social justice is a communist vision. In communism people realize that there is no point in working hard since it doesn't get you anywhere! That's one reason capitalism works and communism doesn't.

Many on the Left just don't seem to get that.
