Our disgraceful reaction to Israel

In an absolutely shameful act, the Obama administration went along with the U.N. Security Council's condemnation of Israel for their response in the attempted breaking of the blockade against Gaza.

Let's be clear about what's going on here. This attempt to run the blockade ultimately had little to do with humanitarianism. If the blockade runners were interested in humanitarianism, there is a port at which the aid can be off loaded and delivered to the people of Gaza via the U.N.

This was a deliberately orchestrated attempt to break the blockade. The blockade is in place because countries like Iran constantly attempt to ship weapons into Gaza for use by Hamas in their ultimate stated goal of destroying Israel.

It is infuriating that when thousands of rockets were being smuggled Gaza and fired at innocent civilians in Israel, the world--including the United Nations--turned a blind eye. If Muslim tyrants--especially those in Iran--could get the blockade removed, they could ship advanced weapons into Gaza for use against Israel.

Israel is fighting to protect the lives of its innocent civilians. Indeed, Israel is fighting for its very existence. And the Obama administration has sided against one of our best allies in the world.
