Poverty and suicide bombers

Poverty and suicide bombers:
A survey of the research on who becomes a suicide bomber puts the lie to the claim that terrorism is the inevitable consequence of hopelessness, poverty, and disenfranchisement. 'As logical as the poverty-breeds-terrorism argument may seem, study after study shows that suicide attackers and their supporters are rarely ignorant or impoverished.' Many were raised 'in relatively prosperous circumstances, and attended college.' One study of nearly 250 aspiring Palestinian suicide bombers found that 'none were uneducated, desperately poor, simple-minded, or depressed" (Dershowitz, Alan. The Case for Israel. 114).
Not that this will convince liberals, of course. They are not ones to allow facts to get in the way of a good theory.
