Sonia Sotomayor nominated to Supreme Court

This morning, President Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. The New Republic has a good--fair and balanced--article on Ms. Sotomayor.

That article was more about her character than her judicial philosophy, which in my opinion doesn't hold much weight. I bet there are a ton of clerks in years past who thought Scalia was a pompous homophobic jerk who isn't empathetic toward minorities, etc... but regardless of what they say about Scalia's character, I align and agree wholeheartedly with his judicial philosophy. I think it's what a judge is supposed to be and I think anything outside of that is a perversion and will destroy this country.

That aside, I honestly haven't read or heard ANYTHING on Sotomayor's judicial philosophy. They say she's a moderate and has the best case for bi-partisan support. It seems she obviously leans to the left and is probably going to use her own emotions and philosophies ahead of what the Consitution actually says, but that still doesn't give me a full view of her perspectives.

I wish I could get a good article on what she believes. If I could guess it's probably the "living document" bull that most of the Justices believe, and once again, if that is the case then she won't ever get my support. Which, I'm sure, she cares about ;D
