Democrats' massive spending bill

Among the items included in the Democrats massive 825 billion dollar stimulus bill which your grandkids will probably still be paying for are:

· $650 million for digital TV coupons.
· $6 billion for colleges/universities - many which have billion dollar endowments.
· $166 billion in direct aid to states - many of which have failed to budget wisely.
· $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.
· $44 million for repairs to U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters.
· $200 million for the National Mall, including grass planting.
· $400 million for "National Treasures.

This is sickening. Sickening b/c of the audacity of our elected officials. They are either so stupid as to not understand that stimulus is really only beneficial in the long term if it is made in significant infrastructure (ex: roads, bridges, massive amounts of fiber optics throughout the entire US)... or they're so brazen that during a significant economic crisis they're trying to spend more money to pay off the special interests their indebted to. We've got a government of idiots or crooks.

If this bill passes... I don't think future generations are going to look to kindly on expenses like Medicare and Social Security, programs they'll never get to experience, when they've got to either increase taxes or cut programs to pay for the debt and disaster this thing will cause.
