More on Obama and Ayers

William Ayers was founder of the domestic terrorist organization, Weather Underground. When asked about the bombs his organization set off and whether he was sorry for his radical past he said he wished he had done more.

During the campaign, Barack Obama said Ayers was just a guy in his neighborhood.

Conservative pundits said there was much more to it that that.

Now Ayers confirms that Barack Obama was indeed lying (though Ayers doesn't put it that way) and that he and the Obama's were family friends.

But that's all behind us now, right? What difference does it make that Barack Obama was family friends with an unrepentant domestic terrorist? What difference does it make that he lied to cover it up just like he lied about taking public campaign financing?

After all, Barack Obama is such a nice guy.

Do you think it would have made a difference if a conservative had begun his political career in the home of David Duke of the (KKK) or Timothy McVeigh? Do you think the media might have looked into it and given any time or headlines to it? Or do you think they would have treated it like the Ayers/Obama relationship?

It is funny just thinking about what would have happened!

Jazzycat,

You are absolutely right. It was like some kind of collective blindness settled over America.

People didn't care what kind of person Obama is, or what his track record has been, or who his friends are.

While they trashed V.P. candidate Palin for lack of experience, they didn't care that Obama had even less executive experience than Palin!

All they cared about was that they just liked Obama. Nothing else mattered.

This wasn't an election. It was a popularity contest.

Does the "mainstream" media have any credibility left? They just now... after the election is over... decide that this might be news. How very convenient.
