Prosecute teachers for child sexual abuse

According to a recent article by Michael Medved, a kindergarten teacher in Hayward California passed out cards to ever student in the class, urging them to "take a stand" against harrassment of “all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender-identity expression.” The children were asked to promise to “intervene” on behalf of “Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Students”.

Personally, I think it is time to began charging teachers like this with child sexual abuse for introducing age inappropriate sexual instruction to little kids, especially when it occurs without parent's permission.

Since some teachers are apparently unable to keep their own sexual agendas out of the classroom, maybe parents need to start pressuring their state representatives to enact laws prohibiting public school teachers from any sexual instruction of children without written parental concent.

The Obama honeymoon

As I hear all the glowing, almost reverent reports the mainstream media give about Barack Obama, it almost makes me feel sorry for him. They have put him up on such a high pedestal, he has nowhere to go but down. No one could possibly meet all their expectations. The only real question is how long before the honeymoon ends.

Mumbai and Al-Qaida

The group claiming responsibility for the terrorist attacks in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) India is called Deccan Mujahideen. The plot thickens, however, as "Indian security authorities, however, believe the group is actually a front for the Muslim terrorist organization Lashkar a-Tayeb ("army of believers"), established in 1989 by Pakistani intelligence."

Indian security authorities came to this conclusion based on interrogation of nine of the captive terrorists (I don't know anything about Indian interrogation techniques, but it wouldn't surprise me if the terrorists had preferred waterboarding)!

Anyway, in the past, the Lashkar a-Tayeb group "had strong links to Osama Bin Laden, and its members trained in Al-Qaida camps in Afghanistan." One of the most senior Al-Qaida officials now being held at Gitmo was captured at a Lashkar a-Tayeb safe-house.

Left wing hypocrisy

Michelle Malkin wonders, "Where are all the Anti-Inauguration activists now?"

Her post is just one illustration of the fact that much of attacks against Bush were based on Left wing hatred rather than serious objections.

India suspects Pakistan

The attack on Mumbai may have come from Islamic extremists in Pakistan:

According to a Pakistani government statement, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told his Pakistani counterpart in a telephone conversation on Friday that "preliminary reports" about the attacks "point to Karachi," Pakistan's main port and financial hub (Associated Press).

Pakistan is sending the head of its intelligence organization to India to help with the investigation. Ed Morrissey suspects they are trying to limit the political damage.

Happy Thanksgiving

As you think of all the things you have to thank God for today, you might remember that after 9/11, almost no one would have predicted that seven years later America would still be withouth a major terrorist attack. That's a pretty significant blessing.

Moderate Islam

According to an article in the Jakarta Post, “a survey was conducted last month by the Center for Islamic and Society Studies” a University in Jakarta, Indonesia “involving some 500 Islamic studies teachers.” The results were enlightening.

21% want the death penalty for converting away from Islam

58.9% support stoning for various crimes

68.6% opposed having a non-Muslim principal

85.6% prohibit their students from celebrating western holidays

87% oppose having their students learn about other religions

97% do not think they are responsible to teach tolerance to their students

Indonesia is considered by many to be one of the most moderate Muslim countries on earth. The true face of moderate Islam! Note that these are not just the views of random people on the street. The respondents were all school teachers who will affect the next generation!

More homosexual violence

In addition to all the intollerance, hatred and violence expressed by homosexuals against Christians, we can add yet another instance. A group of Christians were witnessing in San Francisco when they were violently attacked by a homosexual (OneNewsNow).

Still, almost no media coverage.

Catholic Bishops and FOCA

You've heard of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object? There is a possibility that we may see it happen. And the result could be (figuratively speaking) a nuclear train wreck! In fact, the result could actually be worse than a literal nuclear train wreck!

Barack Obama campaigned on his support for the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). This act would possibly nullify all existing restrictions on abortion "up to the time of fetal viability." There is a chance that FOCA would even in "invalidate the freedom-of-conscience laws on the books in 46 states." If that happened, Catholic hospitals would be required to perform abortions.

On the other hand, Catholic bishops have sworn that they will close every single Catholic hospital in the country rather than be forced to violate their religious convictions on abortion. Approximately on third of all American hospitals are run by the Catholic Church. Imagine the consequences if one third of all hospitals closed their doors--a crisis not only for the patients, but also for the unemployment rate!

The Bishops are apparently not bluffing (wouldn't it be sin for a Bishop to "bluff")? After all, they closed a Catholic adoption agency in Massachusetts when forced to violate their convictions on adopting to gay couples. And an "Auxiliary Bishop" of St. Louis said that "any one of us would consider it a privilege to die tomorrow—to die tomorrow—to bring about the end of abortion'' (Slate, via Hot Air).

If the Freedom of Choice Act passes and if it removes freedom-of-conscience laws, I hope the Bishops follow through on the promises to close the hospitals. I don't say that lightly, because MY hospital is a Catholic hospital and it is the only hospital in my town.

But if American Christians roll over and allow government to force us to violate our religious convictions, the free America that we know and love will have died.

Free Speech at Yuba College

The president of Yuba College in California threatened a student with suspension if he continued to hand out Gospel tracts "without a permit" (ADF).

Liberals once upheld freedom of speech. The still believe in tolerance, of course, but they're only tolerant of the things they support.

Fortunately, a federal court has ordered the college to suspend its bigoted, anti-religion, anti-free speech policies (though the court didn't put it quite that way :-) pending a January 16 hearing.

A few years ago I participated in a "Round Table" on freedom of speech at Oxford University. I made the point that Evangelicals tend to support freedom of speech more than modern liberals. The moderator affirmed his support for freedom of speech but said there needed to be limits on proselytization.

In other words, this liberal thought that if you simply put a label, like "proselytization" on some forms of speech, then it was OK to censor it! And he actually thought he was a defender of free speech!

They should be flogged and tortured?

Many people on the Left absolutely hate right-wing Christians for our belief that homosexual behavior is sin, yet these same Leftists are often amazingly tolerant toward the religion of Islam.

I find that a bit ironic. The following is an excerpt from an interview on Kuwaiti TV with Dr. Sa'd Al-'Inzi, a Muslim scholar (for more of the interview see MEMRI):

Dr. Sa'd Al-'Inzi: ...Death Is Too Good For [Homosexuals] — They Should Be[Publicly] Flogged And Tortured... They Are an Epidemic Plaguing Society"

Dr. Sa'd Al-'Inzi: "When a person commits an abominable act, like homosexuality, for example, or lesbianism, in the case of women's parlors — this constitutes 'spreading corruption in the land,' and should be punished by death."[...]

Moderator: "Other than life imprisonment and the death sentence, what can be done?"

Dr. Sa'd Al-'Inzi: "According to Islamic law, a homosexual should be thrown from a tall building."

Moderator: "What would you do with them?"

Dr. Sa'd Al-'Inzi: "To be honest, death is too good for them. They should be gathered in a public place, to be flogged and tortured, so the truth about these people is made clear and they serve as a lesson to others, because they are an epidemic plaguing society."

Evangelical Christians don't want to kill or hurt homosexuals. We just want to save them.

The Holy Land Foundation and terrorism

The Holy Land Foundation, "A Muslim charity and five of its former leaders were convicted Monday of funneling millions of dollars to the Palestinian militant group Hamas." Read the story on Fox.

Another "moderate" Muslim group?

Qur'an suras 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76

Robert Spencer's commentary on the Qur'an, suras 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76 is available on Jihad Watch.

A lawsuit against CAIR

CAIR (The Council of Islamic-American Relations) has been considered by many to be the voice of moderate Islam in America. When several Muslim imams were behaving suspiciously in an airport, as I recall, it was CAIR that threatened to prosecute the people who reported the suspicious behavior! As I understand it, CAIR has even consulted with our government on Islamic relations.

Now, "Four clients of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have filed a federal civil complaint alleging criminal fraud and racketeering against CAIR...." CAIR's national leadership has been implicated in the suit.

According to the attorney prosecuting the case, “The evidence has long suggested that CAIR is a criminal organization set up by the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas to further its aims of stealth Jihad in the U.S.,” Please read Jihad Watch for the whole story.

I certainly hope the Obama administration will have more discernment when dealing with Islamic organizations than the Bush administration had. I fear, however, that there will be less discernment rather than more.

Thomas Sowell and the economic crisis

Thomas Sowell is a brilliant economist; a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. I've been reading his book, Basic Economics which was written before the current economic crisis. Sowell writes:
Any given firm or industry can always be rescued by a sufficiently large government intervention...The interaction that is ignored by those advocating such policies is that everything the government spends is taken from somebody else. The 10,000 jobs saved in the widget industry may be a the expense of 15,000 jobs lost elsewhere in the economy by the government taxing away the resources need to keep those other people employed...The fallacy is in believing that these are net savings of jobs for the economy as a whole (Sowell, Thomas. Basic Economics, 3rd ed. 2007).

Sounds to me like the economic bailout is just smoke and mirrors designed to protect the rich and powerful. The job losses have apparently just been put off for another day and in other sectors of the economy.

Gay rights "tolerance"

From Michelle Malkin.Com:
eHarmony, a Christian-targeted dating website, gets sued by a gay man demanding that the business match him up with a same-sex partner. The New Jersey Attorney General intervenes on behalf of the gay plaintiff and forces eHarmony to change its entire business model. To be clear: The company never refused to do business with anyone. Their great “sin” was not providing a specialized service that litigious gay people demanded they provide. This case is akin to a meat-eater suing a vegetarian restaurant for not offering him a ribeye...
This is apparently just the beginning. A judge has now approved a class-action lawsuit against e-Harmony in California.

OK, let's recap a bit.

Proposition 8, which defines marriage a between a man and a woman, passes in California and gay rights activists respond with hatred, intimidation and even violence.

A large Evangelical church in Michigan is physically attacked by a gay rights group in Michigan during a worship service.

Churches in California have been pelted with eggs, Christians' cars have been vandalized, and one pastor even had the window of his car shot out.

The city of Chino California threatened to fine people $25 per day for for putting up signs in support of traditional marriage. A church was threatened with a fine for distributing such signs.

In Massachusetts where same sex marriages have been legalized, a court told parents that schools now had an obligation to promote same sex marriages and that parents did not have a right to opt their kids out.

A church member in California was beaten and bloodied by a gay rights activist.

A doctor told a lesbian that he could not artificially inseminate an unmarried woman on religious grounds, but that he would refer he to another doctor who could. The lesbian sued the doctor who made the referral!

In Georgia, a lesbian went to a counsellor for help with a same sex relationship. The counsellor happened to be a Christian who did not agree with same sex relationships and referred the lesbian to another counselor. The lesbian sued the counsellor who made the referral.

A homosexual man is suing a Christian publishing house for $60 million dollars because the publishing house won't mis-translate the Bible to support homosexual preferences.

In Boston, school teachers were threatened with termination if they failed to portray homosexual marriage in a positive light and Michigan's largest homosexual activist group said that once gay marriage was legal, business owners or even news media outlets that fail to recognize such marriages should be sued or jailed.

The Canadian Human Rights Commission put a pastor on trial just for speaking out against homosexuality.

Gay activists managed to shut down an American Psychiatric Association panel discussion when the activists discovered that two Evangelicals were on the panel.

Gay activists manage to shut down a speech they disagreed with at Smith College.

At Missouri State University a professor required students to lobby the Missouri legislature for gay rights. When one student asked for an alternate assignment, she was hit with a "level 3 grievance", the strongest charge a faculty member can make against a student.

At Ohio State University, a college librarian was charged with sexual harassment and was condemned 21-0 in a faculty vote. His crime, recommending a book that the gay activists didn't approve of.

A formal complaint was filed with the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights by a gay couple who complain that their civil rights were violated when a church organization would not rent out their private facilities for a gay civil union.

Gay rights activists at Southern Illinois University sought to force a campus Christian group to include those who openly practice homosexuality.

The Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco (Nancy Pelosi's district) sold sex toys mocking Christian symbols, had people publicly whipped on crosses in mockery of Christianity, and
advertised using a sado-masochistic mockery of the Last Supper.

Gay activists on a University of Oregon campus newspaper ran depictions of a naked, crucified Jesus with an erection! Another picture showed a naked Jesus kissing another naked man, both with erections!

Gay rights activists force a private, Catholic adoption agency out of business because the adoption agency could not in good conscience adopt children to gay couples.

Let's be very clear. Opposition to "gay rights" in America is not about keeping Adam from visiting his roommate Steve in the hospital, or any other such nonsensical smoke screen arguments. It is a battle over freedom of speech and freedom of religion in America.

Although they preach tolerance, there is nothing tolerant about the gay rights movement! Far too many gay rights activists are totalitarian fascists who seek to force acceptance and promotion of their behaviors on every one else, and who try to legally trample on the freedoms of anyone who opposes them.

And we've just elected a president who supports their cause.

This is another one of those things making its way around the internet (author unknown). Do NOT try this at home (hat tip: Don B.)

Dear Internal Revenue Service:

Enclosed you will find my 2007 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in taxes. Please note the attached article from the USA Today newspaper; dated 12 November, wherein you will see the Pentagon (Department of Defense) is paying $171.50 per hammer and NASA has paid $600.00 per toilet seat.

I am enclosing four (4) toilet seats (valued @ $2,400) and six (6) hammers valued @ $1,029), which I secured at Home Depot, bringing my total remittance to $3,429.00. Please apply the overpayment of $22.00 to the "Presidential Election Fund," as noted on my return. You can do this inexpensively by sending them one (1) 1.5" Phillips Head screw (see aforementioned article from USA Today newspaper detailing how H.U.D. pays $22.00 each for 1.5" Phillips Head Screws).

One screw is enclosed for your convenience. It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look forward to paying it again next year.

Obama and the Mahdi

This falls under the category of "the truth is stranger than fiction."

In an article published in Forbes Magazine, a man named Amir Taheri refers to a facinating prophecy made by Ali Ibn Abi-Talib, a cousin of Muhammad. The "prophecy" was recorded in a 17th century Islamic text.

Many Shiite Muslims believe in the second coming of the "Mahdi" or Ultimate Savior." According to Amir Taheri,

According to the prophecy, "at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a "tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West." Commanding "the strongest army on earth," the new ruler in the West will carry "a clear sign" from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: "Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us."

In a curious coincidence Obama's first and second names--Barack Hussein--mean the blessing of Hussein" in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means "he is with us," the magic formula in Majlisi's tradition.

Apparently, some Iranians think Obama may be the fulfillment of this prophecy. You can read the whole article at Forbes (via David Wheaton's Christian Worldview blog).

Banned Books

I'm sure most readers have heard of the American Library Association's "Banned Books Week" during which the ALA celebrates "banned books" and leaves the impression that freedom of speech is under attack by religious loonies who want to ban your books.

Most of you probably know that none of the books on these lists are actually "banned." They are just a list of books about which someone, somewhere had the audacity to actually question some librarian. How dare you, a mere citizen, challenge an all-knowing guardian of the books!

For example, if you were to suggest to a librarian that a book about sex with animals might be inappropriate in the children's collection of your public library, the librarian could submit an electronic form to the Office of Intellectual Freedom of the American Library Association. If enough people expressed concerns about that book, it would be included in the ALA's nationally published list of "banned books."

In the latest edition of American Libraries Direct there is a short blurb entitled, "Feeling Challenged?" in which the ALA, "striving to be as comprehensive as possible" encourages librarians to submit their reports of any challenged books. The ad also provides a convenient link to the challenge form.

In order to justify their existence, the ALA's Office of Intellectual Freedom has to convince people that American libraries are under attack from the "censors." Yet, when they have to advertise for challenged books, it makes me wonder if perhaps business has been a bit slow lately at the Office of Intellectual Freedom.

I wonder if they are feeling the need to drum up a little business.

"House Negro"

"Al Qaeda's number two crackpot, Ayman Zawahiri, called Barack Obama a "house Negro." Read Powerline for a very brief but excellent analysis.

Obama's citizenship

Alan Keyes is suing in California Superior Court to force Barack Obama to prove he is a U.S. Citizen (NBC Augusta, LifeSiteNews, Court document).

Since Obama has produced a copy of the birth certificate, and since Hawaii Department of Health affirmed that it was genuine, Keyes' action seems like an act of desperation. In fact, if I were Obama, I think I would want to put this rumor to rest once and for all.

More gay "tolerance"

Please take time to read Michelle Malkin's short but excellent post on the "insane rage" by gay rights activists. She writes:
But when the GOP took a beating on Nov. 4, no mass protests ensued. No nationwide boycotts erupted. Conservatives took their lumps and began the peaceful post-defeat process of self-flagellation, self-analysis, and self-autopsy. In fact, there’s only one angry mob gripped by “insane rage” in the wake of campaign 2008: The mob of left-wing, same-sex marriage activists incensed at their defeat in California. Voters there approved a traditional marriage initiative, Proposition 8, by 52-48.

Read Michelle's post for a description of the intimidation, harrassment, threats and violence being used by gay rights activists.

The true colors of the radical gay rights movement is really starting to shine through. All their talk of tolerance was a sham. It was nothing more than a ruse to get the "camel's nose" into the tent. Some of these people (again, not all gays) are among the most intolerant people on the planet.

If the situation were reversed, that is, if conservative Christians were using these tactics against gays, the story would be shown and discussed night after night after night on every TV news program in the country! As it is, the media is virtually silent.

In case you haven't seen it, this is being forwarded around the internet (hat tip: Don B):

How Obama Got Elected... Interviews With Obama Voters

Democracy is doomed! Actually this would be more convincing if they had also asked the same questions of Republican voters. The problem is that those who responded said they got their news from places like NPR, CNN, John Stewart, or Bill Mahr! They would be more informed if they had been watching Fox. Anyway, see Ed Morrissey for statistics:

More gay "tolerance" in San Francisco

For a detailed description of the "tolerance" of San Francisco's gay community please take time to read Michelle Malkin's post.

If Christians were treating gays this way, it would be endlessly shown and discussed on every major TV news network and on the front page of every major paper in the country.

Major gay rights groups either need to step up to the plate and strongly denounce this harrassment and violence, or we have every right to assume that they support it.

Obama--reaching accross the aisle?

Barack Obama gave an interview yesterday in which he promised to appoint a Republican to his cabinet. Proof that Obama is trying to unify the country, right?

Pardon my skepticism but it needs to be noted that numerous Presidents have appointed members of the opposition party to their cabinets, so President-elect Obama would not be doing anything new. Second, some important questions must be asked. For example,

Will he appoint a RINO (Republican in name only)? While that might look like he is reaching accross the aisle, it would really not amount to much more than smoke and mirrors.

Will he appoint a Republican Senator. This would just potentially lower the number of Republican Senators bringing the Democrats closer to a fillabuster-proof super majority.

Will he appoint a Republican Senator from a State in which the Governor is authorized to appoint a replacement--and the Governor is a Democrat? This would be nothing more than a blatant power grab.

If Mr. Obama does any of the above, he will have a hard time convincing anyone but Democrats that he is sincere in trying to unite the country.

On the other hand, if he appoints one or more right-wing, anti-same-sex marriage, Pro-Life Republicans who are not Senators, then I will concede that he may possibly be making a sincere attempt to reach across the aisle.

Time will tell.

National Flood Insurance Program

I'm still thinking about some lawyer's call for fairness yesterday.

This morning I was reading from Thomas Sowell's book, Basic Economics. Sowell quotes John Stossel who bought a beautiful beach house a hundred feet from the Atlantic Ocean. His father told him not to build there because hurricane seasons made it too risky. But Stossel's architect said, "Why not? If the ocean destroys your house, the governemnt will pay for a new one."

Sure enough, "Four years later, the ocean surged in and wiped out Mr. Stossel's first floor--and the government replaced it." Then, ten years later after another storm, the government "paid for the entire house and it's contents."

Stossel described the payments for this government run "National Flood Insurance Program" as "dirt cheep." Sowell then comments that "this is not a program for low-income people. It covers mansions in Mlabu and vacation homes owned by wealthy families in Hyannis and Kennebunkport. The National Flood Insurance Program is in fact the largest insurer in the country."

Sowell says that "More than 25,000 properties have received flood insurance payments from the federal government on more than four different occasians. One property in Houston was flooded 16 times, requiring more than $800,000 worth of reparirs--several times the value of the property itself.

But as Sowell says, "There is an almost politically irrestible inclination to provide disaster relief to people struck by earthquakes, wildfires, tornadoes and other natural disasters. The tragic pictures on television over-ride any consideration of what the situation was when they decided to live where they did" (Sowell, 304-305)

Do you think it is fair that rich people get dirt cheap federal insurance that allows them to live risk-free in mansions with ocean front views, using the tax dollars of others who couldn't even afford a small bungalo on the beach?

The fact is that it is not fair. And yet, if we tried to eliminate or even modify it, politicians--especially Democrats--and the media would go berserk!

Global Warming?

What is happening with the Artic environment is truly alarming! The government needs to take action immediately.

According to a report cited by Powerline, "In sharp contrast to the rapid melting seen last year, the amount of global sea ice has rebounded sharply and is now growing rapidly. The total amount of ice, which set a record low value last year, grew in October at the fastest pace since record-keeping began in 1979."

If we don't do something about this rapid global cooling, the Northern Hemisphere will soon be in another Ice Age. Maybe we can call another Kyoto Summit to encourage the nations to increase their carbon dioxide emissions.

A job in the Obama administration

According to the Drudge Report, "If you want a job in an Obama administration, be prepared to disclose every blog post or comment you've ever written."

Darn. There goes my chances for a job in the Obama administration.

Threats against Barack Obama

According to a report by the Associated Press, Barack Obama is receiving more threats than any other President-elect.

Regular readers of Recliner Commentaries know how concerned I am about Barack Obama as President. But, like it or not, Barack Obama is our next President.Threats against a legally and democratically elected President--and Barck Obama was legally and democratically elected--are threats against America and Americans. Anyone who even hears veiled threats against President-elect Obama should reprort them immediately to the Secret Service.

Those of us who are Christians have a biblical obligation to pray for our leaders, in that includes Barack Obama. Judging from the AP report, it sounds like he needs our prayers for safety.

Gay rights and fairness

Earlier today, I was just watching an interview on CNN with a senior lawyer from Lambda Legal, a gay rights activist group. The Lambda lawyer was arguing that gay marriage is a constitutional civil rights issue because if one group can be treated unfairly, all groups can be treated unfairly.

Treated unfairly? Is that now the standard for what is constitutional?

Is it fair that the NBA can discriminate against "vertically challenged" people? Is it fair that the NFL can discriminate against slow people when they choose running backs, or against small people when they choose linemen?

Is it fair that most women are not big or fast enough to play in the NFL? After all, people can't help it if they are too short, or too small. It is a genetic thing!

That fact is that life is not fair, and we do not have a constitutional right to "fairness."

But the Constitution is fair in that gay people have exactly the same rights as everyone else. The Constitution simply does not give anyone the right to marry someone of the same sex.

The fact that some people are not attracted to people of the opposite sex is unfortunate and sad but this fact does not change the Constitution.

Suppose, however, that the country decides that same-sex marriage is a constitutional civil rights issue after all (i.e. after failing to see this for over 200 years!), and that people should be allowed to marry others of the same sex just because they are attracted to each other.

What about people who are attracted to their sisters or brothers? If the Constitution protects the rights of everyone else to get married, why not brothers and sisters?

Or what about a mother and her daughter? If the Constitution protects the rights of everyone else to get married, why not mothers and dauthers?

What about those who are attracted to multiple partners? Does the Constitution protect their right to get married? (Some people are already arguing for polygamy).

And what what about perverts who are attracted to children? Should they be allowed to marry children? Is that a Constitutional civil rights issue also?

You might think these are absurd examples, but it makes little difference what you think is absurd. When same-sex marriage is considered a constitutionally protected civil right, it will be impossible to consistently argue against all these other "alternative lifestyles." And if you think no one in America wants these "rights" you are deluding yourself.

But so what? Who cares as long as no one gets hurt? No one except children raised in all these experimental arrangements, that is.

Mormons threatened with white powder

Proposition 8, which defined marriage as between a man and a women, passed in California in no small part due to the efforts of the Mormon Church. In response, gay activists have been making threats against the Mormon Church and now letters containing white powder have shown up at the headquarters in Salt Lake City and at a Mormon temple in California.

The powder was later found to be non-toxic, but even to send a hoax threat is a violation of federal law.

To its credit, "The Utah Pride Center, a gay rights group, put out its own statement calling the powder hoaxes and acts of vandalism "deplorable" (OneNewsNow).

I agree.

Is this America?

Is this America? It is if the Left has its way (via Michelle Malkin's blog).

Breaking: Secretary of State Clinton?

CNN is reporting that Barack Obama has asked Hillary Clinton to be his Secretary of State.

Actually I'm a little relieved. At least he didn't ask someone like Rashid Khalidi!

PETA wants to raise health insurance

PETA wants to raise your health insurance premiums (Hat tip: Jason I.)

Tracking government

For anyone intersted in tracking legislation, committee action, federal spending, political positions, campaign money or the bailout mess, check out The Thought Collector for some excellent links.

More homosexual hate

More homosexual hate. Why aren't the major gay rights groups condemning these threats of violence? Are these of violence being investigated?

Paulson and the economic crisis

I am convinced that Hank Paulson needs to be fired immediately and replaced with someone who knows what he (or she) is doing before Paulson's bailout plans destroy the country!

See Michelle Malkin's excellent article on Hank Paulson, Naked Emperor.

More on Obama and Ayers

William Ayers was founder of the domestic terrorist organization, Weather Underground. When asked about the bombs his organization set off and whether he was sorry for his radical past he said he wished he had done more.

During the campaign, Barack Obama said Ayers was just a guy in his neighborhood.

Conservative pundits said there was much more to it that that.

Now Ayers confirms that Barack Obama was indeed lying (though Ayers doesn't put it that way) and that he and the Obama's were family friends.

But that's all behind us now, right? What difference does it make that Barack Obama was family friends with an unrepentant domestic terrorist? What difference does it make that he lied to cover it up just like he lied about taking public campaign financing?

After all, Barack Obama is such a nice guy.

Tolerance on the Left

A woman at Augsburg College in Minnesota was attacked by four other women for wearing a McCain/Palin pin.

The Left is supposed to be all about tolerance. Many of them are only tolerant of those who hold their beliefs.

Freedom of speech on campus?

Should you have to pay to get a permit to share your faith on a public university campus? Is that a violation of freedom of speech?

More "tolerance" by gay rights activists

More "tolerance" homosexual style:
On Sunday, November 9th, Mount Hope Church in Michigan was attacked by a homosexual anarchist group called Bash Back. The church was overwhelmed with lesbians, condoms, propaganda, an obscene banner draped over the balcony and members shouting blasphemies (CADC).
The real concern here is not that some radical gay rights fringe group resorts to violence. In the past there have cases in which a very tiny group of radical Christians resorted to violence at abortion clinics. But when they committed such acts of violence, the they were strongly and publicly condemned by the vast majority of Christians.

The assault on the church in Michigan is not the first time gay rights activists have attacked Christians and Christianity (see for example, Fox, WorldNet Daily . Maybe I've missed it, but I have yet to hear of a single homosexual group condemning such violence.

Be good for goodness sake

“Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake." This is the ad that will be appearing on Washington DC buses next week (CNN).

So “Why believe in a god? One answer is that incredibly complex life forms began to appear within a very short time (geologically speaking) after the appearance of water on this planet. Some scientists and philosophers say that it is scientifically impossible for this degree of complexity to have appeared so soon by chance, random mutations, or natural selection alone.

By itself, that doesn't prove God's existence. But it does seem to disprove atheism (Atheism and Monkeys, Hidden Face of God, The Way of the Cell).

And “Just be good for goodness sake?” Are you kidding me? I am very thankful that many atheists have chosen to be “good” people, but that is not necessarily the logical outcome of their atheism.

Many atheists logically conclude that if there is no God, the only limitations on their behavior are their own desires and what they think they can get away with. If they really want to rape or rob someone, for example, and they think they can get away with it, why not? Who are you to judge them or tell them anything different? (In fact, I suspect that many atheists have chosen to be atheists because of the freedom they think it brings).

Fortunately, many atheists don’t think this way. Many humanist atheists think they should be good because it is good for society. But other atheists logically think, screw society! The only thing that counts is me!

Either way, the idea that we should “be good for goodness sake” is just silly.

Paul Broun: Obama the Marxist

If any of my readers think I've been "over the top" in my criticism and fear of Barack Obama, my comments have been nothing like the fears of Georgia Congressman Paul Broun.

Some are calling it "Obama Derangement Syndrome." I may have a mild case of ODS but probably not nearly as severe as that of Conogressman Broun :-)

Arnold Schwarzenegger and gay rights

Proposition 8 in California passed, defining marriage as between a man and a woman. Actually, Californians had passed similar legislation before but it was overturned by activist judges. In Proposition 8, the people once again have spoken.

Gay rights activists have taken to the streets in protest. Nothing surprising about that. What is upsetting, however, is that while some protests have turned violent, California's governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger encourages gay rights activists to never give up (See Michelle Malkin's post).

There is now a batle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party. If the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger ever becomes the new face of the Republican Party, I for one, will stay home on the next election day.

Not Christmas but Obamas

I understand that plans are underway "to promote a national holiday for Barack Obama, who will become the nation’s 44th president when he takes the oath of office Jan. 20."

Maybe we could have this national holiday on his birthday, August 4. Reminiscent of Christmas, we could call it "Obamas."

We no longer have the freedom to celebrate Christmas in the public schools, but I'm sure students would be allowed (even pressured) to celebrate the holiday of "Obamas."

Eventually Congress could pass an Act requiring big pictures of Obama on billboards, signs, and buildings all over the country--kind of like Sadam Hussein's picture was all over their country. Instead of singing "Hail to the chief" we could just say, "Heil Obama."

Barack Obama will be our next President and I respect that but let's not get carried away. We aleady have a President's day. We don't need an Obama holiday.

Gun control saves lives?

According to Canada's National Post, "This week, Chicago took over as murder capital of the United States. There are several cities that have higher murder rates per 100,000 population, but no city with more total murders."

The "strange" thing about this is that "Chicago has also had a complete ban on handgun sales and possession since 1982." If the gun control lobby was right, wouldn't you expect murder rates to go down? So why has the number of murders gone up?

The National Post assessment is right on:
Criminals ignore laws against handgun ownership more contemptuously even than they ignore those again robbery, assault, rape, drug-dealing and murder.

Crusading politicians may keep law-abiding citizens from possessing guns, but that will do nothing to stop firearms crimes because law-abiding citizens aren't shooting down their rival meth pushers outside strip clubs at 2 a. m.

Not having guns does, however, prevent law abiding citizens from protecing their families in the event of a 2 A.M. home invasion by rapists, murderers and sadists.

The Left is more compassionate toward the perpetrators than they are toward the victims.

Something stinks in Minnesota

For any readers who are interested in the Franken Coleman race, something smells very fishy (and I mean, fishy as in dead, rotting fish) in Minnesota. The margin is now down to 221 votes as Democratic precincts keep mysteriously "finding" votes for Al Franken. See Powerline for details.

Forced community service

Hey, all you students who voted for Obama: Obama's new website just announced his plans
"to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year" (emphasis mine; via Hot Air).

My guess is that many students who voted for Obama liked the idea of forcing the rich to give up their money to give to students. I wonder if students will be so excited about plans to force them into community service!

I'm all for community service, but when the government starts forcing everyone to participate........well, listen carefully. The sound you hear is your freedom flushing down the hopper.

And you asked for it!

I love this guy! (hat tip: John W).

Mourning the dead

In Romans 1,St. Paul writes of those who reject God and says that "claiming to be wise, they became fools." This description fits the video clip perfectly.

Gay protests in Calilfornia over Proposition 8

In California, hundreds of gays and lesbians take to the streets protesting the passing of proposition 8 which defines marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Most were peaceful. A few incidents of violence.

Calls for violence against Christians

In California, some gay people are calling for violence against Christians. According to AFTH comments like this have appearned on prominent gay activist web sites:
“I’m going to give them something to be f – ing scared of. … I’m a radical who is now on a mission to make them all pay for what they’ve done.”

Someone outside of California pleaded with Californians to start burning down Mormon places of worship.

On the other hand, one gay rights activist chastized his fellow gay activists saying:
Yes, isn’t it wonderful that all these wonderful boys and girls who fly their rainbow flag and talk about “tolerance” would advocate violence against institutions and people that didn’t vote their way in an election, i.e. the free exercise of DEMOCRACY.” Fidel [Castro] and Hugo [Chavez] would be oh so proud.

Schumer and the Fairness Docrine.

Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer was recently asked about the Fairness Docrine. He said,

“The very same people who don’t want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC to limit pornography on the air. I am for that. I think pornography should be limited. But you can’t say ‘government hands off’ in one area of a commercial enterprise, but you’re allowed to intervene in another. That’s not consistent” (CNS News)

I'd say that if Chuck Schumer can't tell the difference between political speech and obscenity, he has no business being a senator!

Besides, one of the big issues with the Fairness Doctrine is that it is a bald-faced attempt at censorship of conservative speech since the Fairness Docrtine is only directed at radio stations, and most radio-talk shows tend to be conservative.

The Democrats would never propose a Fairness Doctrine directed at Television because ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CBS and CNN are all decidedly Left wing. I have no doubt that if a Fairness Doctrine had been applied to TV, Barack Obama would not be President elect right now! The Democrats know this which is why they would never propose applying the Fairness Docrine to TV.

There is nothing "fair" about the "Fairness Doctrine." It is unconstitutional censorship of free speech.

Eighth grader sent home

On Halloween, a New Jersey eighth grader wore a costume to school which was considered so outrageous he was sent home. With other students wearing costumes of all kinds of evil, what could be so horrible that a student would be sent home?

The boy came dressed as Jesus.

He was sent home because his costume might offend other students and disrupt the education process! (OneNewsNow).

President Obama

I woke up this morning hoping it had just been a very bad dream.

It wasn't.

One silver lining around this very dark cloud is that the Democrats do not appear to have a fillibuster proof "supermajority" in the Senate.

Another silver lining is that after so many years of "Bush lied, people died;" after so many years of absolutely irrational, rabid hatred for Bush, and after so many years of Democrats blaming absolutely everything--regardless of how rediculous, uncontrollable or unforseeable--on Bush and the Republicans, the shoe is now on the other foot.

It is a very small consolation but in a perverse kind of way, it is almost a relief to be out of those "shoes." It's time for the Democrats to put up or shut up.

Gay tolerance in San Diego

According to The Associated Press,

A pastor leading efforts to pass a ballot initiative that would end same-sex marriage" in California says the campaign has become the target of vandalism and violence.

Rev. Jim Garlow says signs urging a "Yes" vote on Proposition 8 are being stolen, churches have been pelted with eggs, cars have been parked outside the homes of supporters bearing the message "Bigots live here," and some supporters have been physically assaulted. Garlow says a pastor even had the windows of his car shot out because he was displaying a "Yes on 8" sticker. "One man in Modesto was beaten as he was handing out 'Yes on 8' signs, and had stitches in his eye," he adds.

Unless they approve of these threats to freedom of speech, I think the major homosexual groups in America really need to issue strong condemnations of this behavior. For some gay rights activists, "tolerance" just means tolerance for their views.

Obama and baby killing

The editor of my campus newspaper published an article entitled “Thou shalt not assume” complaining that pro-life people were erroneously calling supporters of Obama, “baby-killers.” If they publish my response at all, it will not be out in time for the election so I thought I’d post it below:

To the editor:

I read your article "Thou shalt not assume." I appreciate your courage in taking a stand that is probably not very popular on this campus.

I agree with you that voting for Obama does not make someone a baby killer.

Many people on both sides of the debate argue about whether or not the fetus is a "person" or whether the fetus has a "soul." This really just clouds up the issue.

The undisputed scientific fact is that the fetus is human.

It is entirely arbitrary to apply the commandment, "Thou shalt not murder" to a human two minutes (or two months) after he or she is born, but not to a human two minutes (or two months) before he or she is born.

Barack Obama understands this. This is precisely why Obama fought so hard against the “Born-Alive Infants Protection Act.”

Obama understood that if the product of a failed abortion has the constitutional right to life, then that same human baby should also have had those rights before the abortion was attempted. But as a constitutional scholar, Obama understood that this would endanger abortion “rights” in America.

Therefore, rather than concede the scientific fact that unborn babies are human, and therefore have a constitutional right to life, Obama argued strongly in favor of allowing living babies who had survived abortion to be left alone to die in a cold, stainless steel pan!

Beside the fact that this is just plain evil, if living babies do not have a constitutional right to life, what is to prevent society (and an Obama Supreme Court) from deciding that babies born with mental or physical defects do not have the right to life either?

What Obama seems to forget is that this is the same kind of arbitrariness that led people over 150 years ago to argue that those with black skin are not really "persons" and don't have a soul. The result was a horrendous evil!

Considering the enormous number of unborn babies killed in America (a disproportionate percentage of which are black), the result of the pro-choice position is really not much different than the result of genocide.

If we had a candidate for President who was practically perfect in every way, except for the fact that he or she supported genocide, would we support that candidate anyway? Would we really just say, "Well, the issue is complicated and after all, we don't want to be one-issue voters"?

I don't think so.

So no, I don't think voting for Obama makes someone a baby-killer. But I am convinced that voting for Obama does support the killing of a huge number of babies in violation of God's command.

The death of Barack Obama's grandmother

I just read that Barack Obama's grandmother has passed away. I understand that he was very close to his grandmother. My sincere sympathy to Mr. Obama and the family.

Homosexuality and Barack Obama

Most Americans—including many Christians—really have no idea what is in store for us when Barack Obama becomes President.

Obama has promised to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which he will be able to do if he gets a Democratic supermajority in Congress—and this is entirely possible.

Once the Defense of Marriage Acts is overturned, all states will be forced to recognize homosexual marriage whether the voters like it or not.

When homosexual marriage becomes official public policy, the public schools will promote it with a vengeance. Your children will be forced to sit through gay days, gay pride assemblies and classroom homosexual brainwashing which will teach younger and younger children that their parent’s religion—Christianity, Judaism and Islam—is wrong and that parents who disagree with homosexual behaviors are hateful bigots!

This is not just idle speculation. This is already happening in Massachusetts where homosexual marriage is legal and where a court decided that not only did the schools have an obligation to conduct such brainwashing, but that parents did not have the right to opt their children out of it! Children as young as third grade are being exposed to this abuse.

Oh, and unless you are rich, forget sending your children to private school. Obama and his cohorts, Pelosi and Reid are against school vouchers. Leftists, who are firmly in control of the National Education Association, view forced state education as the means by which they can brainwash the next generation into their social agendas—including acceptance of homosexual lifestyles. They do not want students opting out by going to private schools or home schools.

In the atmosphere generated by the new Obama state, anyone who disagrees with homosexual behavior or who teach/preach against it will increasingly be viewed as hateful bigots. This is not just fear mongering. It is already happening.

When the Democratic supermajority begins to pass various hate laws, such preachers and teachers will be persecuted here just like they are in Canada, England and Australia.

Some people naively think that our Constitution will protect us. As the Supreme Court stands right now, the Constitution probably would protect us. But Barack Obama believes in appointing Supreme Court justices who “interpret” (actually, pervert) the Constitution in accordance with the current standards of political correctness and public policy.

Under an Obama court, the Constitution will be re-interpreted in a way which does not protect speech against homosexual behavior. It will be argued that such speech will open homosexuals up to harassment, intimidation and even violence. The Left won’t care, however, that Christians may be exposed to harassment, intimidation and violence when the public schools and media teach that those who disagree with homosexual behaviors are hateful bigots.

Again, this is not just fear mongering. Things like this are already happening in Massachusetts and California where homosexual marriage is legal. When Obama becomes President the tyranny will begin to spread like gangrene.

The book of Leviticus lists a number of sins that are so terrible they are called perversions and abominations. The text says that it is for these sins that the land of the Canaanites "vomits" out its people, and the text solemnly warns the Jewish people against committing such sins lest the land vomit them out as well (Leviticus 18). Among these sins are sex with close relatives, sex with animals, and sex with those of the same sex.

Some Christians, however, will object that this is the Old Testament, as if God has changed his mind or as if that just doesn’t apply any more. But Romans 1:26-27, First Corinthians 6:9 and First Timothy 1:10 also strongly warn against those who “practice homosexuality” (ESV, emphasis mine). (It is important to note that the issue is not about “sexual orientation.” It is about behavior).

There are many “Christians” whose “theology” is Christian in name only. They appeal to the Bible when it is convenient to do so or when the Bible supports their own agendas.

But how dare Evangelical Christians who claim the Bible as our final authority in faith and practice, vote for a candidate who has promised to make it national public policy to support and promote lifestyle behaviors which the Bible declares abominable and says will lead to the destruction of a nation!

God help us!

Liberal calls for the death of Joe the Plumber

Fox and Friends reported this morning that a liberal contributor to the Huffington Post and radio talk show host on San Francisco's KGO radio, called for the death of Joe the Plumber!

I guess this is tolerance, San Francisco style.

More Obama deception

Obama lies about McCain's supposed tax cuts to oil companies. And the media ignores it.

Obama and the Weather Underground

A blog called zomblog claims to have the first issue of a newspaper published by the Weather Underground terrorist organization. They've published photocopies. As interesting as it is scary.

Obama's criminal connections

Racist and radical liberation theologian, Jeremiah Wright

Terrorist and Weather Underground founder, William Ayers

Terrorist Bernadette Dorn

Terrorist spokesman Rashid Khalidi

Convicted felon, Tony Rezko

Four years ago, someone would have been dismissed as a looney-toon if they had suggested that a candidate with all of these radical and criminal connections would seriously be considered for President of the United States.

Yet Ameicans actually seem to be on the verge of blindly ignoring all of these connections in order to elect Barack Obama President.

God help us!

Obama's friend Khalidi and terrorism

Barack Obama's close friend Rashid Khalidi was a spokesman for the then terrorist organization, the PLO (via LGF).

I've always wondered why Muslims would suppport Barack Obama. After all, whether the issue is pornography or homosexuality, it is usually the Democrats, not the Republicans, who support the immorality that Muslims claim to abhor.

Makes me wonder if Muslims are willing to put up with the American immorality they claim to hate in order to support a candidate who may be much more in support of anti-Israel Islamic agendas then he has admitted.

Qur'an suras 61 and 62

Robert Spencer's commentary on the Qur'an, suras 61 and 62 are now available on Jihad Watch.

Bankrupt our coal industry

At a time when all energy options need to be on the table, Barack Obama promises to bankrupt our coal industry! See LGF for the story.

This is not really all that new. For decades the Democrats have fought against the coal industry, the building of nuclear power plants, the building of Dams for hydroelectric power, the buiding of oil refineries, drilling for oil in Alaska and off shore drilling.

And yet when a war breaks out in the Middle East they blame it all on the Republicans and oil!

And we're about to turn the House, Senate, and White House over to them.

God help us!

Cut defense spending by 25 percent

According to OneNewsNow, "A Republican member of the House Armed Services Committee is outraged over the call for a 25 percent reduction in defense spending coming from House Democrats."

Not only House Democrats, but Senator Barney Frank--one of he Democrats who blocked Republican efforts to crack down on Fannie Mae and Freedia Mac--is also calling for drastic cuts.

So if we put a President in the White House who will never do anything but negotiate with our enemies, and if the Congress drastically cuts defense spending, we might just as well send Ahmennutjob and Osama bin Laden engraved invitations to attack U.S. interests both here and abroad. Either way, it sends the same message.

It scares me to pieces!

For any who think my last post on Iranian missiles is evidence that I've gone off the deep end, I'd just like to point out that on TV this morning, former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagelburger called Barack Obama a "charlatan" and said the prospect of an Obama presidency scares him to death. His exact words were that it "scares me to pieces." He said it twice.

People who are much more knowledgeable about the inner workings of politics and world affairs than I will ever be are also terrified by the prospect of an Obama presidency.

Iranian missiles and the U.S.

According to the Jerusalem Post (via Jihad Watch), "The head of the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency said Friday that Iran was not far from attaining the means of using missiles against all of Europe and against the US in five to six years..."

What do you think will happen when Iran has the capability of putting nuclear warheads on these missiles?

But no worries. I'm sure Barack Obama will be able to sit down with Ahmanutjob face to face and convince him of the error of his ways--just like John F. Kennedy was able to convince the Soviet Union's Nikita Khrushchev to give up their imperialistic ambitions.

Oh, wait, bad example. When John F. Kennedy met face to face with Nikita Khrushchev, Khrushchev came away with the impression that Kennedy was weak. That impression led Khrushchev to conclude that he could get away with putting nuclear missiles in Cuba--a decision that came very close beginning World War III.

Do you really think the Iranian mullahs are going to think Obama--with his boundless faith in negotiation--is stronger than McCain? Do you really think that Obama's perceived weakness will lead to peace?

Before the Iraq war, not only the CIA, but the world's intelligence agencies (and even prominent Democrats!) were all saying that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. But although Barack Obama had no reason to believe otherwise, and although ten years of negotiation with Saddam Hussein hadn't worked, Barack Obama still did not want to take any meaningful action. He just wanted to negotiate.

I am convinced that Barack Obama will negotiate with the Iranians until Iran has the capability not only to make intercontinental ballistic missiles, but to put nuclear warheads on them as well.

But unlike the old Soviet Union, Iran will not be detoured by threats of retaliation. That is because their religious duty is to take over the world for Allah and it really doesn't matter to them whether millions die in the cause or not. As one Islamic extremist said, "We love death more than you love life."

If Obama wins the election it might be a good idea to start learning Farsi and Arabic now, unless, of course, you are one of us obstinate Christians who refuse to convert. If we're lucky, they'll just kill us. If not, we'll become dhimmis.

I know. This is just rabid fear-mongering. But in World War II it only took two small (by today's standards) nuclear bombs to bring Japan, one of the most powerful empires on earth, to its knees. History is littered with the memories of nations who once thought they were unconquerable and would last forever. It is extraordinarily dangerous for us to assume that of all nations which have ever existed, we are different.

Please vote for McCain. If not for yourself, for your children and grandchildren.

You Don't Want to Meet Bill - Card Check

It is hard to believe that Democrats actually support such an un-American and fascist idea as eliminating workers' right to a private vote. But when it is a choice between freedom and Democratic self-interest, freedom will lose every time. Do you really want these guys controllng both houses of Congress, the White House and eventually the Supreme Court too?

Joe the Plumber cover-up

Possible cover-up and crimes committed in the Ohio Democratic investigation of "Joe the Plumber?" See Ed Morrissey.

Helping the poor and sick

When it comes to helping people who are poor, Barack Obama seems to think that this is the government’s job, while John McCain leans more toward personal responsibility. More and more Christians are siding with Obama.

Actually, from a Christian perspective, you can find support for both in the Bible. For example, Ezekiel 34 presents God as lashing out against the rulers of Israel for not taking care of His people; for not helping the hungry, sick or injured. On the other hand, the Apostle Paul wrote that if anyone was not willing to work, he shouldn’t eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

These two perspectives are really not as contradictory as they might sound. For example, as far back as the books of Moses, land owners were required by Jewish law to leave part of their harvest behind for the poor to pick up. But the poor actually had to work by going out to the field to glean what was left over! It was not delivered to them!

The principle seems to be that government was expected to help those who could not help themselves.

Unfortunately, some Democrats--with their unbiblical optimism about the goodness of man--fail to distinguish between those who are in poverty through no fault of their own, and those who are in poverty because they are lazy and will not go to school, or will not get a job, or those who are jerks and can’t keep a job, or those who fail to learn from their mistakes and continually make poor life choices that keep them in poverty.

When the govenment continually gives handouts to people who will not help themselves this just "enables" those people and perpetuates not only their poverty, but their children's poverty as well. It even causes some people who might otherwise be self supporting to think, “If I don’t have a job, the government will provide me with public housing, food stamps, and medical care. Why should I work?”

This is what President Lyndon Baines Johnson’s Great Society did for us. It sounds to me like Barack Obama’s nearly-socialist plan to redistribute the wealth is LBJ on steroids.

But we haven’t even figured out how to fix Social Security yet. How are we going to pay for all of Obama’s proposed entitlement programs—programs that will go to the “poor” without distinguishing those who can’t help themselves from those who won’t help themselves?

At least Bill Clinton--to his credit--tried to make this distinction when he began removing able bodied people from the welfare rolls. Bill Clinton now supports Barack Obama, in my opinon, because he is putting party loyalty--and maybe his wife's future Presidential aspirations--above principles. But I think President Clinton was far closer to John McCain than he is to Barack Obama.

Anyway, I want my tax dollars to help those who cannot help themselves. I'd rather have charities work with people who will not help themselves. I certainly do not want Barack Obama redistributing the wealth to those who won't help themselves.
