"Barack the Silencer"

When Obama says he wants to change the way Washington works, he is apparently not kidding. His pit bulls are already implementing chilling tactics that sound much more reminiscent of Nazi Germany or the USSR than America. If you read no other article this week, please read the short article, "Barack 'The Silencer' Obama’s Gangland Assault on Free Speech" by Michelle Malkin.

When you read Michelle's article notice that while the ACLU spares no effort attacking the U.S. government and protecting the rights of terrorists, they are absolutely silent when it comes to protecting free speech by Republicans! The true agenda of the ACLU comes through loud and clear.

Obama needs to immediately and forcefully put a stop to these tactics or we have every reason to believe that they come not just from over-zealous followers, but from Obama himself.

NOW and Sarah Palin

Since a woman as Vice President breaks another "glass ceiling" you would think that the National Organization for Women would be thrilled at the choice of a woman for Vice President, regardless of her political party.

Think again. On the NOW website this morning was an attack against Sarah Palin! We have to ask, is it the National Organization for Women? Or the just the National Organization for Leftist, socialist and communist women?

Obama's acceptance speech, part 1

Mr. Obama, I just have a few questions about your acceptance speech. You said,

"We're a better country than one where a man in Indiana has to pack up the equipment that he's worked on for 20 years and watch as it's shipped off to China, and then chokes up as he explains how he felt like a failure when he went home to tell his family the news."

In 1992 when Ross Perot ran against the first George Bush (the first one) and Bill Clinton, Perot warned repeatedly that if our country passed NAFTA and GAFTA we would hear “a giant sucking sound” of jobs leaving this country. We could argue about whether Perot's economic policies were sound, but he was absolutely right in his prediction. But both Bush and Clinton strongly supported NAFTA and GAFTA. So, Mr. Obama, do you just not know your recent history or were you lying when trying to pin this all on the current administration?

Obama said,

"We are more compassionate than a government that lets veterans sleep on our streets and families slide into poverty..."

I agree with you. But remember many, if not most, of our homeless suffer from serious addictions and mental health issues and it was the Left that shut down our state mental hospitals and pulled the rug out from under these people leaving them homeless.

Obama said,

"Ours -- ours is a promise that says government cannot solve all our problems, but what it should do is that which we cannot do for ourselves: protect us from harm and provide every child a decent education;"

Protect us from harm? Mr. Obama did you forget to mention that after 9/11 virtually no one in this country would have predicted that we would go seven more years without another major attack on our homeland? Did you forget to mention that George Bush is responsible for keeping us safe during that time?

And about providing a decent education: We spend billions of dollars in education and yet small, financially struggling private schools often (usually?) do a much better job educating students. If you really want to move toward a decent education system why don’t you stop pandering to the powerful teachers' union and support school vouchers which will allow competition and school choice! After all, you do represent the party of choice, right? Or are you just for the choice to kill unborn babies?

Obama said,

"I will -- listen now -- I will cut taxes -- cut taxes -- for 95 percent of all working families, because, in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle class."

So it sounds like you will only tax the super wealthy and the big corporations. But the super rich and big corporations are very savvy and have very expensive lawyers. Won’t they just shelter their wealth overseas or maybe even take their business overseas? After all, all of our good and well intentioned business regulations have caused them to take their jobs overseas! Do we really want to push big business overseas?

And what will keep them from just raising their prices? It sounds good to tax the rich but the reality is that this is not the whole story. Tax the oil companies more and I will just end up paying higher oil prices. Tax the auto industry more and I will just end up paying much more for my next car.

Obama said,

"And for the sake of our economy, our security, and the future of our planet, I will set a clear goal as president: In 10 years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East.

But, Mr. Obama, for decades your party has fought against off-shore drilling. Your party also fought against drilling in that mosquito infested swamp called ANWR. Your party fought against increased coal mining. Your party fought against building new dams. Your party fought against building more nuclear power plants. It seems to many of us that we are in this energy crisis precisely because of the strangle-hold the radical environmentalists have on your party!"

Obama said,

"Washington has been talking about our oil addiction for the last 30 years. And, by the way, John McCain has been there for 26 of them."

Excuse me but your choice for Vice President has been in the Senate for 36 years so what's your point?

The fact is that both Republicans and Democrats are both responsible for not taking action after the last fuel crisis. In fact, ultimately, "we the people" are responsible because we would not have supported the necessary measures to achieve energy independence once the last crisis evaporated. If gas prices go down again, I have no doubt that all our concern about energy independence will go down too.

Obama said,

"I'll help our auto companies re-tool, so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here in America."

Wonderful! Great idea. But, Mr. Obama, how are you going to do that? After all, our auto companies are among the largest companies in America and you have consistently vilified big business and want to tax them more. So are you going to hit them with higher taxes just so you can give the money back to them? Ahhh, I get it. Brilliant idea. First you take away their money through taxation, and then you offer to give it back to them as long as they do what you want them to do! That is how the government controls people and businesses with taxes! Sounds like a slippery slop towards a Soviet economy to me.

More later.

Another abortion scandal

According to OneNewsNow "Charges have been filed against Michigan abortionist Albert Hodari."

More on Obama and Ayers

According to Barack Obama, the admitted domestic terrorist Bill Ayers was just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood. It's beginning to look like Obama lied. Newly released documents are showing that Obama actually had a working relationship with the unrepentant terrorist. It also appears that the Obama campaign is taking extraordinary measures to silence this information. Read about it in National Review on line and Michelle Malkin.

Not enough experience

After strongly and publicly arguing that Barack Obama simply does not have enough experience to be President, at the Democratic National Convention last night Bill Clinton reversed himself saying that people said the same thing about him when he first ran for President.

The fact is that both Clintons have argued that Obama does not have the experience to be President. But now, when it is politically expedient, both Clintons say the exact opposite. Unfortunately, for all too many politicians truth takes a back seat to political expediency.

The Temple of Obama

Here are some pictures of the Temple of the Obamamessiah. To me, this extravagance seems to be a bit out of place for a political Party that pretends to be for the poor.

Know Enough?

Here is the video that has the Obama campaign so terrified they are willing to attempt to use the American legal system to intimidate and squash freedom of speech. See:

Pelosi and abortion and the truth

On Sunday while speaking to Tom Brokaw, Nancy Pelosi said,
“As an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time...And what I know is, over the centuries, the doctors of the church have not been able to make that definition. And St. Augustine said at three months. We don’t know.”
In an interview today, Catholic Archbishop Donald Wuerl said,
“The current teaching of the Catholic Church on human life and abortion is the same teaching as it was 2,000 years ago...From the beginning, the Catholic Church has respected the dignity of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death.”
Pelosi said she had studied this issue for a long time implying that she knew what she was talking about because she had personally studied it. And yet, what she told millions of Americans was completely, absolutely false!

This is worse than when Pelosi--a 20 year veteran of Congress--described herself as a Washington outsider! Has "truth" become so relative for Nancy Pelosi that she can no longer tell the difference between truth and blatant lies? Or does she just consider it OK to say anything she pleases as long as she thinks it will score political points?

UPDATE: Pelosi's lies have now been condemned by a Roman Catholic Cardinal as well. Read the rebuke in Hugh Hewitt's post on Townhall.

Biden's support of Iran

According to an article in the Washington Post:
As chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Biden is well versed in policy debates and carefully choreographed trips. But his record on the Islamic Republic of Iran -- perhaps the chief national security threat facing the next president -- suggests a persistent and dangerous judgment deficit. Biden's unyielding pursuit of "engagement" with Iran for more than a decade has made it easier for Tehran to pursue its nuclear program, while his partisan obsession with thwarting the Bush administration has led him to oppose tough sanctions against hard-liners in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
And this is the man Obama has chosen as his Vice President! Please take time to read this short, but chilling article.

Just like the rest of us

Michelle Obama spoke at the Democratic Convention last night apparently trying to convince everyone that she and Barack are ordinary people just like everyone else.............just like all the rest of you millionaire lawyers with Harvard degrees who think that no matter what the question, government is the answer.

Democrats and terrorists

The Democratic Party invited Ingrid Mattson to be one of their featured speakers at their "interfaith gathering" before their convention. Ingrid Mattson is president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). According to Christian Newswire:
The ISNA is suspected of having ties to radical terrorism organizations worldwide. In fact, the ISNA is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding case. ISNA is also supported by the Muslim Brotherhood, a radical organization that calls on Muslim organizations in America to dedicate themselves to "a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands ... so that ... God's religion Islam] is made victorious over all other religions."
The politically correct Democrats are so open minded their brains have fallen out. Are these really the people we want running our government?

Joe Biden and higher prices

In his acceptance speech today, Joe Biden talked about how much prices have gone up during the George Bush administration. Funny, he didn't happen to mention that in the last election, the Democrats promised to lower gas prices--they even said they had a plan to lower gas prices. Yet gas prices have skyrocketed under the Democratic Congress.

Why on earth should anyone believe Biden, Obama or other Democrats when they now tell us they are going to lower prices? What is the old saying, "fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

McCain Ad: Biden on Mccain

Here is what Joe Biden REALLY thinks of Barack Obama and John McCain. (Hat tip: Kevin)

Obama and Biden

CNN is reporting that Senator Joe Biden from Delaware is Obama's official choice for Vice President. Biden was Senator in Delaware even back...a long time ago...when I was in the Air Force there. In fact, Biden has been a Senator since I graduated from high school, a long, long time ago!

While I disagree with Biden's politics, you can't question his experience. In fact, having Biden working for Obama is a bit like having a world-class heart surgeon working for a hospital orderly.

I must say that I a bit comforted that Obama has chosen Biden. When someone with a learners permit is driving a car, its nice to know that an experienced, licenced driver is in the other seat.

Homosexuality and slavery

I know a lot of people love to hate Ann Coulter but she often makes some great points. In a recent article she referred to the Rick Warren forum during which Barack Obama was asked "if he supported a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman." Obama said no, "because historically -- because historically, we have not defined marriage in our Constitution."

Coulter pointed out that "historically" the words "slavery" and "slave" never appeared in the original Constitution either, but "in 1865, the 13th Amendment banned slavery...."

If we followed Obama's logic, I guess we shouldn't have added the 13th Amendment prohibiting slavery.

When Obama says he got his law degree from "Harvard," I wonder if he meant Harvard Nebraska.

Left and Right; Absolutes and moral clarity

Rarely have I seen an article which so clearly explains the differences between the Left and the Right as Michael Medved's article today on Townhall. Please take the time to read it.

The Case against Obama

According to Thomas Winter, Editor of Human Events, the new book entitled "The Case Against Obama reveals:

* The corrupt Chicago Machine politician who "made a U.S. senator" out of Barack Obama -- and how he did it.

* Payback: How Obama intervened to keep the Chicago Machine in power while he was a U.S. senator.
* How he won his first election by having his lawyers knock his opponents off the ballot on technicalities.
* His vocal support for a grotesque "infanticide bill" that was too extreme even for Nancy Pelosi.
* How his wife's salary tripled the year he became a senator and started earmarking funds to her employer.
* How Obama has repeatedly steered legislation to pay off campaign donors.
"I've never done any favors for him," says Obama about convicted developer Tony Rezko. Oh, but he has...
* And much more!

If there is no God

Please take time to read the short article, "If there is no God" by Dennis Prager. It is excellent!

Lesbian intolerance

A lesbian woman in San Diego wanted to be artificially inseminated. The doctor explained that she (the doctor) could not artificially inseminate an unmarried woman on religious grounds, but the doctor then referred the woman to another doctor who performed the procedure.

The lesbian woman then sued her first doctor for refusing to perform the procedure...the same procedure that another doctor had already performed by the time the lawsuit was filed! Apparently, tolerance is a one way street in the gay community!

The case went all the way to the California Supreme Court which decided that "discrimination" trumped Freedom of Religion and that doctors could not refuse to do artificial insemination on unmarried people.

When people are forced to violate their religious convictions, we no longer have freedom. We have tyranny.

Obama and the number of abortions

In the Rick Warren forum, Barack Obama said that the number of abortions have not gone down under a pro-life President so we need to try a different approach. I heard that dis-information repeated in an interview with a pro-Obama apologist again this morning.

According to a U.S. News article, the number of abortions performed in America is the lowest it has been in over a decade!

Obama's smear machine

Un-be-lievable! The Obama campaign is now accusing John McCain of hearing some of the questions from the Rick Warren forum beforehand. John McCain was apparently still in a Secret Service motorcade when the questioning of Obama began and McCain did so well that the only possible explanation could be that he heard the questions ahead of time, right? I mean, it couldn't possibly be that McCain was just more experienced and prepared, right?

The unsubstantiated rumor first began with NBC's Andrea Mitchell and was quickly picked up and spread by the Obama campaign and in the Leftist "nutroots" (Michelle Malkin). The McCain Campaign has denied the rumors and John McCain himself has reportedly complained to the President of NBC.

If McCain had answered the first set of questions very well, but stumbled as the night went on, I might wonder if the Obama campaign had a point. But McCain actually seemed to do better as the night went on!

I think this is an obvious case of the Obama camp realizing that their candidate just didn't hold a candle to McCain, so the Obama apologists and smear machine kicked in. So much for changing the way Washington works if Obama is elected.

Obama: warm and likable

One thing that struck me about Barack Obama last night is how nice and "likable" he is. Listening to him, it was so easy to forget that this is the man who wanted to leave babies to die on a shelf.

And while he said he believes that marriage is between one man and one woman, this is the man who promises to eliminate the Defence of Marriage Act which would require all states to recognize gay marriages performed in other states.

And when he talks about the importance of reaching across the isle to work together in a non-partisan way, it was easy to forget that he is one of the most partisan politicians in Congress.

And when he talks about his concern that we don't leave our children saddled with government debt, it was so easy to forget that all his proposed social programs might just make Social Security look cheap by comparison.

And when he talks about his concern for the poor and middle class and how he plans to raise taxes on the rich to support all his programs, it is easy to forget that the "rich" just pass on the added taxes to the poor by way of higher prices.

When you watch Barack Obama, all the issues just kind of get lost in his sense of humor, warm smile, and general likableness.

And that is truly scary.

Foreign Imam's

According to WND:
A new congressional study has found that more than 20 Muslim nations deny entry to American and other foreign religious workers, WND has learned, even as the U.S. State Department grants entry to hundreds of clerics from their countries each year.
This is insanity! The State Department needs to completely shut down entrance to America of all foreign Imam's, and deport foreign Imam's who are already here until their countries of origin began to allow the religious leaders of other religions to enter and lead religious communities.

For example, we should deport all foreign Imam's from Saudi Arabia, and allow no more to enter, until Saudi Arabia allows Christians priests and pastors not only to enter Saudi Arabia, but to conduct Christian worship services there.

Obama and Clarence Thomas

When Rick Warren asked Barack Obama which Supreme Court Justice he would not have appointed, he said, Clarence Thomas because Clarence Thomas was too inexperienced at the time.

Good advice. I think we should consider Obama's advice about Clarence Thomas when it comes to voting for President.

UPDATE: I have to issue a semi-correction. I listened to the again clip today and Obama did not actually say "inexperienced." He said, "inexper....."and then quickly changed his wording, undoubtedly realizing that if he continued his inteneded argument it would indeed undermine his whole Presidential campaign.

Obama on partisanship

Barack Obama was just asked by Rick Warren why he wants to be President. Obama said he thinks government is broken and he is the person who can work on a bi-partisan level to fix it.

But Obama is one of the most far-left, partisan politicians in Congress. If you really want someone with a proven bi-partisan track record, you will vote for John McCain.

Saddleback Civil Forum: Abortion

I've been watching Rick Warren interviewing Barack Obama. Obama said that deciding when a baby gets civil rights is "above his pay grade" and that he thinks the governemnt should stay out of it because the decision to have an abortion is a very difficult decision for women and not one they take lightly.

Good point. So when a woman has a baby and later finds out that their baby is a financial burden, or that their baby stands in the way of their career or schooling, they should just be able to kill the baby. After all, these are difficult decisions and women never take them lightly so the govenment should just stay out of it.

In case you think my sarcasm is mean-spirited and outrageous, remember that Barack Obama opposed legistation protecting living babies from being left on a shelf to die!

A baby is just as much a human being one month before birth as s/he is one month after birth. Most people still want the government to prosecute those who kill their babies one month after they are born. Why is it above someone's pay grade to figure out that we should not kill babies one month before they are born?

Obama: Another broken pledge

Today on Ed Morressey writes,
Can anyone remember a reform pledge Barack Obama hasn’t broken? First, he insisted that he would remain within the public-financing system, as late as February, then suddenly pronounced it “broken” when Obama didn’t want to stay within its spending limits. Next, his campaign went “negative” first against John McCain when he had pledged to eschew such advertising. Now Barack Obama and his team have begun raising millions of dollars in “soft money” from unions and PACs despite his sanctimonious depredation of such donations just two months ago:

Read the rest of his article on Hot Air. It is really getting hard to understand how so many people can continue to support Obama.

Pelosi: A Washington outsider?

In a recent interview with Larry King, Nancy Pelosi described herself as a Washington "outsider" (Hot Air).

Pelosi is Speaker of the House! She has been in Congress for over 20 years! Her father was a five-term congressman! If anyone is a Washington insider it is Nancy Pelosi.

It almost sounds like this woman has been playing politics for so long she doesn't even know how to tell the truth anymore.

Obama and the communists

The Communist Party USA has endorced Barack Obama for President. Read about it in OneNewsNow.

Forced unionization

According to CNSNews:
Liberals in Congress have promised to enact the card-check law in the next Congress. Senator Barack H. Obama has pledged to sign it if he were to become President. In typical Orwellian fashion, the legislation is called the “Employee Free Choice Act.” As Secretary Chao has stated, this legislation would deprive ordinary workers of the right to a secret ballot as to whether to organize a union in a factory or company.
Unions, of course, are a power base for the Democratic Party. There's certainly nothing surprising about the Left using Orwellilan language to mask their power-plays, but what is suprising is that the Left's attempted power-grab in this case is so egregious, that even the very liberal former U.S. Senator, George McGoven has publicly opposed it:
According to McGovern there are many documented cases in which workers have been pressured, harassed, tricked and intimidated into signing cards which have led to mandatory payment of dues. McGovern suggested that workers could lose their freedom to express their will in private, the right to make a decision without anyone peering over their shoulder, free from fear or reprisal.
Pressure, harassment, intimidation, loss of freedom....and Barack Obama supports it!

Why we mised 9/11

Want to know why 9/11 took us by surprise? Dhimmi Watch shows a flyer on terrorist groups published in 1999 during the Clinton adminstration. It speaks volumes!

According to an article in WND, “The woman commissioned by the Democratic Party to direct its presidential nominating convention in two weeks espouses the same black liberation theology pursued by Rev. Jeremiah Wright.” She apparently also supports reparations.

Excuse me, but I thought we had been paying reparations for the last 40 years through Affirmative Action programs. It seems to me that virtually every job application I have ever filled out contained some kind of Affirmative Action statement letting me know that women and minorities have preference.

The only group that leaves out is white men. So why not just be honest about it and say “We discriminate against white men”?

--It doesn’t matter if your ancestors never owned slaves.

--It doesn’t matter if your ancestors died in a war to free the slaves.

--It doesn’t matter if your ancestors were among the white American sailors kidnapped and enslaved by North Africans.

--It doesn’t matter if your family didn’t even live in America during slavery days.

All that matters is that you are a man whose skin is white, so you are therefore, responsible for slavery.

If that isn’t racism, I don’t know what is.

Of course it is not just white men who will pay reparations. Men and women who are Hispanic, Asian, American Indian will also pay reparations through higher taxes.

Nevertheless, I would actually vote FOR reparations on just two conditions:

First, that major African-American organizations like the NAACP, and famous "civil rights leaders" like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would publicly state that reparations would--as far as they are concerned--finally clear the slate on slavery in this country; that they would promise never again to bring the issue up as a guilt-club and would condemn those who do.

Second, that all Affirmative Action programs should cease as soon as the reparation checks are in the mail. Although Affirmative Action was racist, I will concede that it may have been necessary to help compensate for the evil of racism and discrimination in this country. But I would like to know that my children, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren will not have to be penalized in jobs and education for the evil done by some men before my children were even born.

Of course "civil rights leaders" would never agree to such conditions because the issue of slavery is the big guilt-club by which they maintain their power. They will never give that up. I have hope, however, that after my generation dies, the next generation will just move on.

Americans need to realize that slavery is a debt that human beings can never, ever repay. It is impossible for us to atone for what a relatively few wealthy and wicked men did to the innocent black men, women and children who were ripped from their homes and sold like animals! We could pay reparations and have Affirmative Action programs for a thousand years and it would never make up for their suffering.

But the men who did this evil died a long, long time ago and we just can't punish dead people. Punishing people today, who had absolutely nothing to do with slavery, or even punishing the great-great-great grandchildren of actual slave owners, may be revenge, but it is not justice.

Unions and higher taxes

Michelle Bachmann, a U.S. congressperson from Minnesota, cites a study that demonstrates:
"that those states with a forced employee/union system not only pay higher taxes than those states with Right to Work laws which protect employees from being fired for refusing to join or pay dues or fees to a union, but household incomes in Right to Work states are also higher."

You can read her article on Townhall.

Why Dennis is not a liberal

Talk show host Dennis Prager likes to emphasize "clarity." He just posted an excellent article on Townhall entitled, "Why I am not a liberal." I might quibble with him on a couple of minor points (mostly wording) but he pretty much speaks my mind.

Whether you agree with him or not, he does a good job of clarifying the issues.

Obama and infanticide

In 1999, nurse Jill Stanek made a discovery that almost sounds like something out of a "B" horror movie. Ms. Stanek discovered that some babies were surviving hospital abortions but were just being shelved in a utility room and left to die!

In 2001-2002 Ms. Stanek testified before a committee on which Barack Obama was a member. Obama strongly opposed doing anything to save the lives of such babies. Twice, Obama voted against protecting the babies and twice the measure failed.

When the bill was later brought up in 2003 Obama stopped it "from even getting a hearing." It was only in 2005, after Obama had left the Illinois state legislature, that a bill protecting the babies finally passed.

A similar bill, known as the Born Alive Infants Protection Act made it to the U.S. Senate and received support even from such liberal Democrats as Kennedy, Kerry and Clinton. Contrary to Obama, even liberal Democrats apparently agreed that infanticide went too far.

It almost boggles the mind that we would need a special act of Congress to protect the lives of innocent living human beings! But what boggles the mind even more is how devout Christians, Muslims and Jews could even consider voting for a candidate who so recently fought to deliberately leave live babies alone on a utility room shelf to die!

Sharia law

According to a report in WND, "An organization in Florida plans to educate what it perceives as an increasingly culture-tolerant public about the horrific dictates of Islamic law by purchasing billboard space with a simple, but confrontational message: 'Sharia law is hate."

Alan Kornman, the executive director of the Central Florida chapter of the United American Committee says,
"Under Sharia law if you are accused of stealing, a hand and foot from opposite sides are amputated. If you are caught having an affair, the woman is stoned to death and the man is given 80 lashes. If you change religions, you can be charged under apostasy laws and given the death sentence by a legal Sharia court. If you want to marry a nine-year-old child, Sharia law condones pedophilia, because Mohammad married Aisha at six and consummated the marriage at age nine. I find these and many more practices of Sharia law despicable and hateful...."

Inflating tires and saving gas

You may recall that about a week ago Barack Obama said, "We could save all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just inflating their tires and getting regular tune-ups." Now, Jim Geraghty (via Hugh Hewitt) has done the math:
Under my exceptionally generous assessment that full national tire inflation compliance would save each currently underinflated commuter an extra three miles per gallon, and thus 6.6 million gallons of gasoline per day, Americans would have to have 100 percent tire efficiency for every day for 664 years in order to save the equivalent of the 1.6 trillion gallons of gasoline in the Outer Continental Shelf. (This isn't even including ANWR.)
So there you have it. Obama was right...if you don't mind waiting over six hundred years!

Obama sells out to the U.N.

When Obama told German's he was a world citizen, there may be more than just rhetoric behind those words:
His Global Poverty Act, currently under consideration in Congress, is just one such policy. Despite its seemingly innocuous title, the Global Poverty Act would force America to adopt the U.N.’s “Millennium Development Goals” as official U.S. policy. This means outsourcing to the United Nations all important decisions concerning the use of U.S. foreign aid dollars. Not only that, but the fee for allowing the U.N. to play the “middle man” in our global war on poverty would be a tax of .7 percent of the U.S. Gross National Product. That’s right. Barack Obama and his liberal allies such as Senator Biden have signed on to a bill that would allow the U.N. to tax America (and Americans) an estimated $845 billion over the next 13 years. Obama’s plan represents perhaps the greatest affront to our national sovereignty since the War of 1812 (Townhall).
Obama apparentlywants to make us all "world citizens" and tax us accordingly! In my humble opinon, the United Nations is one of the most disgusting, corrupt, criminal organizations on the face of the planet!

Abortion and depression

An new "Norwegian study, published in the Scandinavian Journal of Public Health, questioned 5,768 women between the ages of 15 and 27. It concluded that young adult women who undergo induced abortion may be at increased risk for subsequent depression" (ChristianNewsWire).

Another Obama advisor out

Obama wanted us to judge him on his judgment:

A little over a week ago, the Obama campaign proudly touted the appointment of a new Muslim outreach director. Now, he’s out following questions about his ties to a radical Muslim imam and the Muslim brotherhood (Michelle Malkin).

I've lost count of all the shaddy characters who have been connected with Obama. How many does it take before people start questioning Obama's judgment?

Democrats block energy bill

This just in:

To block a vote on energy, Nancy Pelosi tried cutting the power in the House Pro-energy House Republicans are doing just that this week, refusing to let Nancy Pelosi and her anti-energy allies get away with ducking the energy issue.

On Friday morning, Nancy Pelosi suddenly and without warning, adjourned the House of Representatives. She knew how badly the anti-energy left was losing the argument over energy and knew she couldn't allow a full day of discussion about the American Energy Act to take place in front of the C-Span cameras and press. So she called the vote to adjourn, and when House Republicans refused to leave, Nancy Pelosi ordered the microphones and lights in the House be turned off.

Think about this: In order to block a vote on energy for America, Nancy Pelosi tried to cut off power to the House of Representatives. (Winning the Future, August 5, 2008).

No wonder Pelosi's "most ethical Congress in history" has the lowest poll ratings in history! So while we're all paying high gas prices, the Democrats who specifically ran on promises to lower gas prices, are on vacation refusing to even discuss the issue!

The only question now, is whether American voters will still remember this in November.

Obama and oil reserves

In a recent interview Colorado governor Bill Ritter was asked about his chances of being selected by Barack Obama as Vice President. Ritter responded saying, essentially, that he really didn't have enough experience to be Vice President. As it turns out, Governor Ritter has more experience as Governor than Barack Obama had in office before deciding to run for President. (Michelle Malkin).

In a not entirely unrelated story, the front page of this morning's Minneapolis Star-Tribune (hardly a bastion of conservative thought) says, "Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama called for tapping the nation's oil reserves to lower gas prices. It is the second time in a week that he has shifted his position on an energy issue...."

Barack Obama has neither the experience nor the judgment to be President.

Homosexuality and violence

According to a study on Violence and Homosexuality:

…it appears that the modern world record for serial killing is held by a Russian homosexual, Andrei Chikatilo, who was convicted in 1992 of raping, murdering and eating parts of at least 21 boys, 17 women and 14 girls.

The top six U.S. male serial killers were all gay

A study of 518 sexually-tinged mass murders in the U.S. from 1966 to 1983 determined that 350 (68%) of the victims were killed by those who practiced homosexuality…

A substantial minority of homosexuals (between 22% to 37%) indulge in painful or violent sex…

In a national survey of random samples of homosexuals and heterosexuals, (7) 32% of those males who called themselves homosexual or bisexual versus 5% of heterosexual males reported having engaged in sadomasochism…

The 1980 CBS-TV documentary, Gay Power, Gay Politics reported that about 10% of the accidental deaths among young men in San Francisco resulted from sadomasochistic sex gone awry.

More alarmingly, between 15% to 40% of statutory rape (child molestation) involves homosexuality.

The ‘hate crimes’ gays complain about are infrequent and seldom involve more than name-calling or snide remarks. The FBI reported 431 hate crimes against homosexuals for the U.S. in all of 1991.

Only one was "confirmed" for Washington, D.C. – yet D.C. gay activists claimed 397 incidents! When pressed, they admitted that at least 366 of these "crimes" consisted of "verbal harassment."

This doesn’t imply that all homosexuals are violent. Of course not! But it does suggest that violence is a significant problem in the homosexual subculture and it raises serious concerns about a society that is now actively promoting homosexuality in its schools, media and entertainment!

Yet the public is almost totally kept in the dark about such statistics. Why is that? Some may not want to publish or investigate such statistics because it would mess up the gay rights’ agenda to portray homosexuality as just other loving alternative lifestyle…like Leave it to Beaver for the 21st century.

Others may be concerned that it would raise a backlash of violence against homosexuals.
Whenever anyone thinks about violence against homosexuals, the first name that usually comes to mind is Matthew Shepherd. Matthew Shepherd was a gay man from Wyoming who was brutally beaten by two thugs. His murder was covered extensively in the media, and numerous movies and songs have been produced in his honor.

Although Christianity had absolutely nothing to do with the atrocities committed against Mr. Shepherd, many have used his death to smear Christianity. NBC’s Katie Couric, for example, slanderously implied that several Christian organizations were to blame, and many others on the internet have followed her (even though ABC’s investigations led them to suggest that the motive may actually have involved drugs and robbery).

While the politically correct crowd doesn’t want to widely publicize statistics about violence committed by homosexuals for fear of increasing the violence against them, the PC crowd is apparently not concerned that falsely blaming Christians for such violence might increase hatred against Christians.

Please read the entire study called, Violence and Homosexuality which provides documentation for the statistics.

Barack Obama on crime

Stanley Kurtz has an excellent (and lengthy) article on "Barack Obama's Lost Years" in the Weekly Standard. Excerpts appear below but please read the entire article when you get a chance:

We've heard a good deal of late about Ayers's Weatherman terrorism back in the 1960s and his lack of repentance….Obama has dismissed Ayers as just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood." Yet several Obama-Ayers connections are known: Obama's 1995 political debut at the home of Ayers and his wife (and fellow former terrorist) Bernardine Dohrn, Obama's joint service with Ayers on the board of the \ Woods Fund of Chicago, a couple of appearances with Ayers on academic panels, and what the New York Times called Obama's "rave review"…of Ayers's book on juvenile justice….

For all the attention, the actual content of Ayers's 1997 book, A Kind and Just Parent, as well as the political context of Obama's interest in it, have so far passed unremarked.

…Ayers's radicalism pervades his book on Chicago's juvenile court system.

The book also virtually defines the phrases "liberal guilt" and "soft on crime."
Ayers opposes trying even the most vicious juvenile murderers as adults. Beyond that, he'd like to see the prison system itself essentially abolished.

… Ayers argues that prisons artificially impose obedience and conformity on society, thereby creating a questionable distinction between the "normal" and the "deviant."
Given his decision to recommend Ayers's book in the Tribune, it's fair to say that Obama is at least broadly sympathetic to this perspective. When Obama offers examples of ill-conceived legislation, he often points to building prisons: Instead of uilding another prison, why not expand health care entitlements?

The most intriguing thread linking Obama, Ayers, and crime, however, runs through Ayers's wife, Bernardine Dohrn…. Dohrn...regularly and energetically opposes "get tough" crime laws. Ayers draws on his wife's wisdom in A Kind and Just Parent, and Dohrn, like her husband, publicly presents her work on juvenile justice not as a repudiation of her youthful radicalism, but as a continuation of it.

…Obama was one of only three Illinois state senators to vote against a proposal making it a criminal offense for convicts on probation or on bail to have contact with a street gang. A year later, on a vote mandating adult prosecution for aggravated discharge of a firearm in or near a school, Obama voted "present," and reiterated his opposition to adult trials for even serious juvenile offenders. In short, when it comes to the issue of crime, Obama is on the far left of the political spectrum and very much in synch with his active political allies Ayers and Dohrn.

In the name of religion

There is an atheist billboard being posted in some U.S. cities that says, “Imagine no religion.” Last month Recliner Commentaries argued that in the last century alone, atheist communist regimes killed about a thousand people for ever one person killed during the inquisition.

A common atheist response to statistics like this is that while many people have been killed “in the name of religion” no one has been killed “in the name of atheism.” While that point could be debated, let’s turn it around.

All over the country there are thousands of schools, homeless shelters, hospitals etc. that were founded in the name of religion--Baptist hospitals, Presbyterian Hospitals, Catholic hospitals, Jewish Hospitals etc.

Not only that but for hundreds of years, thousands of Christians have gone all over the world--often at great danger to themselves--bringing not only the gospel, but food, clothing, education, housing, and medical care to people of every race and nationality all “in the name of religion.”

Although there are also many secular schools and hospitals, how many were specifically founded “in the name of atheism?”

Obama plays the race card

Lately Obama has been repeatedly playing the race card. And lying about it. Please take the time to read Michael Medved's short article.
