McDonalds and homosexuality

From the American Family Association:
McDonald’s helped sponsor the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade. Want to see what McDonald’s considers worthy of support? Click here. (Warning: These photos are extremely offensive and graphic.)

AFA asked McDonald’s to remain neutral in the culture war. The company refused, stating they will continue to support the gay agenda including same-sex marriage. AFA has called for a boycott of McDonald’s restaurants.

Hmmm, I wonder why we never see pictures like this of gay pride parades on the evening news? All people ever see is the politically correct sanitized version.

Anyway, I support McDonald's freedom to use its money however it chooses. On the other hand, I agree with AFA. I would prefer that McDonald's remain neutral in the culture wars and stick to doing what they do best, making hamburgers. When they use money earned from the meals I buy to aggressively promote immoral behavior, I think I'll exercise my own freedom and take my business elsewhere.

McDonald's has become SICKDonald's!!! I won't be surprised if we soon begin seeing the assassinations of certain political, business, and entertainment leaders in this country - the blessed country that many have died for so that sickos in high places can drag the public down to their Hellbound levels! If those who died for America could have foreseen the scum that they died for, they probably would have refused to defend this country. We have collectively ignored, to our imminent peril, the Bible verse that says, "Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces and there be none to deliver"! I dare all readers to Google "God to Same-Sexers: Hurry Up" and then share it with your neighborhood McDonald's. Irv

The amusing thing about this is the people most likely to try and shut McDonald's down using legislation sit on the left. They seem to have a perverse desire to put the company out of business or make them so highly regulated they can't earn a profit. Getting in bed with your enemies just doesn't seem to be a wise decision on the part of McD's. Appeasement has never worked in the past.

I deleted my comment above because of a grammatical error. The revised version is below:

Let's assume for the sake of argument that some homosexuals are psychologically disturbed. Do you call people "sickos" if they suffer from bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia too?

More importantly, do you honestly think Jesus would have called psychologically disturbed people "sicko's and "scum?"

Do you think that calling people sickos and scum will lead them to repentance?

To be quite blunt, I think it is people like you who give Christians a bad name.

And I'm not sure what you mean by "soon begin seeing the assassinations of certain political, business and entertainmnet leaders..." but it is probably good for you that I can't trace your identity or I would seriously consider reporting your veiled threat to the police.

Even veiled hints of personal violence are not welcome on this blog! Please take your anger elsewhere.

At one time in the past the following groups urged boycotting the Disney Company: Assemblies of God, Catholic League, American Family Assoc., Catholics United for the Faith, and Concerned Women for America, to name but a few.
(http://www.religioustolerance.org/disney2.htm) I truly wonder if a boycott of this food chain will be any more effective than the afore-mentioned boycotts against Disney?

The agenda driven media will by definition present news is such a way as to promote their world-view. Their slogan should be unfair and unbalanced.

BTW. You may be right, but Irv did not claim to be Christian, he only quoted a Bible verse. Most professing Christians would give the passage reference.

Sorry if you thought I had a veiled threat. I am peace-loving and don't believe in violence. I was thinking of the nut in Tennessee who shot up a church there, and really believe we'll be seeing more and more folks going "postal" over anything that stresses them (including homos with their in-your-face decadence). Even Hal Lindsey can predict the increase of the same kind of violence, but nobody takes his words as veiled threats. As the Word says, if we fail to warn the wicked in a forthrightly manner, their blood will be on our hands! Instead of using "sickos" (even though the Bible speaks of those who are sick [spiritually]from their head to their feet), maybe I should adopt other Biblical terminology such as "children of the devil," "brute beasts," "harlots," "haters of God," "filthy dreamers," "spots in your feasts," "fools," "child of hell," "whited sepulchres," and "hypocrites." Isn't it love when a parent punishes a child to keep him from running out into the street? If a man is merely "effeminate" (and not a full-blown homosexual), he will still be excluded from God's kingdom, according to I Cor. 6:9,10 ! Just my two cents. Irv

Yes, I am a born-again Christian. But I don't believe I'm better than anyone else. However, I really fear for America which is fast becoming a Nightmare-ica! Irv

Thank you for your clarification on the violence.

I agree with your concern about America becoming "nightmarica" :-) I also agree that there is a time for anger and sometimes even name-calling.

My problem with your name calling was that you seemed to be addressing everyone who is homosexual--and that is a pretty broad group.

There are Christians who are homosexual but who believe homosexual behavior is sin and who, therefore, abstain from sex with people of the same sex.

I don't think they should be called names. I think they should be praised by other Christians.

Then there are other homosexuals who have desparately tried to change and have been unable to do so. They deserve our sympathy, not our anger.

Then there are homosexuals who are either resigned to their orientation and behavior or who are comfortable with it. I think their lifestyle is sin but I certainly wouldn't call them names any more than I would call a neighbor "scum" for committing adultery or looking at pornography.

At the far end of the spectrum, however, are the anti-Christian hate-mongers who put on sado-masochistic mock crucifixions, or who cross-dress as nuns and protest at churches, or who parade in S/M gear half naked in the streets, or who advertize their perversion using an S/M poster of the Last Supper.

I personally think that many in this last group are seriously disturbed, and opposition to their adgenda may call for anger and sometimes name-calling may even be appropriate.

But please, do not just vent on the entire homosexual world indiscriminately. They are people for whom Christ died.
