Michael Savage doesn't share your concern.

"On the day it was announced that Sen. Ted Kennedy had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage opened his show by interspersing audio of Kennedy singing "Ay Jalisco No Te Rajes" with clips of news reporters discussing Kennedy's diagnosis and audio from Kindergarten Cop in which Arnold Schwarzenegger's character says, "It's not a tumor." Later, Savage played the Dead Kennedys song "California Über Alles" after stating: "The poor guy's been suffering for years, you know? Unfairly he's been accused of alcoholism, but we see now that it was something much more deep-seated. And so, to cut this out in some respect for Ted Kennedy, here's a tune coming at you from the Dead Kennedys. Go ahead and play it, please.""

The wingnuts on the right have made this sick man their third most listened to talk show host. What does that say?

So Brent what is your point? There are fools on the right as well as the left. Most of us already accept that premise. To "publicize" one, or more, of these "characters" in forums such as this, merely adds to their audience base.

Brent, Michael Savage is an embarrassment to Conservatism. Most prominent conservative talk show hosts won't even mention his name.

This sucks, is crappy, horrible, awful, and stupid.

I am praying he will be there in Nov. when Barack becomes our new President.

I understand that reasonable conservatives (if there are any left) distance themselves from him, and appreciate that you two have done so. But 1) liberal "fools" are discussed all the time on this site, so why not a little equal time for me?; and 2) I can't think of any liberal "fools" who have over 8 million listeners.

Is it conservatives fault that there are so many liberal fools that are placing the US in danger? They should be exposed and I appreciate Dennis and other blogs exposing them and I hope he and they keep it up.

While I have heard of Michael Savage I can't recall ever having listened to him.

Daily Kos, Brent. There ought to be at least 8 million people there.

Daily Kos isn't about just one person though. I highly doubt that everyone tunes in just to hear what Markos has to say. In fact, many people disagree with him and voice their concerns often. Luckily there are thousands of other blogger's opinions there to read.

Many people may disagree with Savage too, but we'll never know, and they keep listening. Difference between the blogosphere and radio I guess.

(I forgot to say, the number of members of DKos I've heard to be around 500,000, which is much less than 8 million.)

Brent said...

Not to mention that the things the right complain about on DKos are just random diaries that the occasional kook posts. Anyone can write whatever they want there, even a right-winger wanting to make the left look bad. (That said, I don't visit that site very often myself.)

Jazzycat, you're on to us. We want our country in as much danger as possible. Probably because we hate it so much.

Just to add to this, Steven Curtis Chapman lost his daughter on Wednesday in a horrible tragedy when their son was pulling out of the driveway and couldn't see her. We need to be in prayer for the Chapman family as well.

Thanks, l'oiseau. You're right. That really is a heart-breaking tragedy.

I saw a video clip on Fox News last night showing Steven and his little daughter singing together. It was from a home movie taken only about a month before the accident. It was enough to make a grown man cry and I don't even listen to his music.

Yes, you can see that clip on his website too, which is just a family picture and an article about Maria now. It's so horrible.
