Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha

I'm at a conference in Washington DC this week so my posts may be sporadic. In the mean time Nancy Pelosi has announced that this new Congress will be the most ethical in history. With that in mind, check out an enlightening article about John Murtha, whom Nancy Pelosi is supporting, in OpinionJournal.Com. Even if I were a Democrate, I'm not sure Mr. Murtha would be my first choice as an ethical leader.

This kind of statement reminds me of "I will not raise taxes"... it's going to come back and bight them. Just stop w/ the rhetoric you silly politicians and get some stuff actually done.

I don't know a lot about Murtha's past, but if what we've been hearing recently is accurate, you're probably right. I haven't heard a rebuttal from him, either, other than to call criticisms "swift boat-style attacks". Sounds to me like there's a lot more substance here than in what those swift boat sleaze balls were saying about Kerry.

Looks like most Democrats agreed. Hoyer was selected over Murtha by a vote of 149-86.
