Appeasement in Israel

Earlier today Israeli Prime Appeaser—er, Minister Olmert offered to release large numbers of Palestinian prisoners, to ease travel restrictions, to free up frozen funds, and even to give up more occupied land in exchange for a halt in Palestinian violence against Israel. This would be a noble gesture if Olmert was dealing with reasonable people. He’s not. The immediate response was that the Palestinians fired more rockets at innocent Jews in the Israeli town of Sderot—in spite of the fact that there is supposed to be a cease-fire in effect!

When will the West get it? The Palestinians, Syrians, and Iranians do not want peace with Israel. They want nothing less than the destruction of Israel. They've said so. Why won't we believe them? If appeasers in the West have their way they will give up more and more and more until one day they find out that there is nothing left to give but our freedom—and we still won’t have peace.

I agree with you 100%. The Palestinians, Syrians, and Iranians haven't shown that they have any interest in real peace. Peace should be taken off of the table until they show they are committed to peace and control rocket fire into Israel. It should be publically announced and continually repeated that when these governments can keep Israel from getting shelled for say 9 weeks (or whatever makes sense) then we can all come back to the table to discuss a last peace, but until then... no.
