U.N. observation posts in Lebanon

Before any of the facts were known, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan immediately accused Israel of deliberately shelling a U.N. observation post in Lebanon (So much for any pretense of objectivity). My impression has been the many in the TV news media have also been cooking Israel's goose before all the facts are known.

Now, however, LGF is reporting that there may be another side to the story. A UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) press release indicates that Hezbollah has been firing from the vicinity of U.N. observation posts and that Hezbollah actually hit a U.N. observation post (funny, I haven't heard about that in the news media)! The exact quote from the UNIFIL press release states:

"Another UN position of the Ghanaian battalion in the area of marwahin in the western sector was also directly hit by one mortar round from the Hezbollah side last night. The round did not explode, and there were no casualties or material damage. Another 5 incidents of firing close to UN positions from the Israeli side were reported yesterday. It was reported that Hezbollah fired from the vicinity of four UN positions at Alma ash Shab, Tibnin, Brashit, and At Tiri" (UNIFIL pdf document).
